handy
good point
Any serious move up in Avis Inc mirrored by a similar move in D`Iteren but only modestly reflected in a move in the ave share price might be a buy signal....

Investors may find it profitable to keep an eye on the share price of Avis Inc .......symbol CAR.......... on the NYSE
a pattern may develop in which the AVE share price follows the trend of the CAR share price as speculation about a bid for CAR,,fuels speculation about a subsequent bid for AVE........
See ADVFN NYSE:CAR for latest CAR trades

Poor results ...Hennessy looks like he needs at least another year to turn round the business........Only hope for an share price surge is probably a private equity bid by whoever buys Avis Inc...which is now in play following demerger of all its Cendant sister cos and upcoming name change..........watch for a surge in the avis inc share price on the NYSE.meanwhile ave looks like drifting all the way back to 50 - 55p

This company has far too much debt still. Cautious comments by the John Lewis man.

Suspect recent share price upsurge reflects publicity in the USA on Avis Inc now finally demerged from the other Cendant Cos...with the hope that a bid for Avis Inc and AVE by an investment group to reunite the global brand is the next logical step.......we shall see

Certainly seems stuck in a 70-75p range, with very little insight into why it would or could move - very disappointing.

Will this ever rise back up over 100p again? Or have the budget competitors done away with with any possibility of that?

If the share price goes significantly north of 75p when Wall st opens it may herald some action in the US re sale of Avis Inc instead of demerger by Cendant

This morning's announcement - basically a profit warning plus a same-as-we-were comment - was deserving of a fall in price imo. Should have gone down and stayed down in the present climate, not bounced up again. Funny old market..
Presumably some were fearing summat worse.
