Wondering who sold. They got a great price anyways. Either way for Noble it's a win win ,takeover by themselves or some other party and if no takeover a steady rise in value will do nicely.

Well pretty good results although still at a loss which should reverse next time with the increased turnover. Nav 12.5p not sure have they mixed the eps figures around. Noble should take them out imv.

That's a few nice buys this morning.

Looks to me like we're on the upward journey again. I can't see resistance on the charts until approx 12.5 -13p

Well, if it holds here, or rises, I would see that as a breakout (a wee one, I grant!)

NAV here should be around 13/14p and the shares can be bought for 9p that's a discount of 35% which is way way to low. 11p for starters would be nice.

Yes badtime but that would be the cream on the cake. Best to focus on the cake first. ;o) Noble could be a welcome contributor too as could a searing hot auction for specialty items such as these.

From a personal viewpoint I can tell you that a bit of strength is back into the coin market for items priced between GBP 1,000 & GBP 5,000. Not too sure about the top end market though but demand is always pretty good there anyway from what I gather.

And as can hapen with investment trusts..someone gets a big enuff stake to direct the board into realising value..who knows..maybe..maybe not

SKYSHIP - lots of ideas here: some are good, some not so, just dyor etc.

Btw AVR won't be fully valued by the market. Think of it as an investment trust which trades at a slight discount below NAV. Just something to take into consideration when figuring out fair value here.

Hi Badtime - might join you for a few again if I see a cheap offer down the tracks. Meantime enjoying the great run in NBL...

Liarspoker - "Margin of safety too small for me...". You must be very hard to pls with yr stock selection. I certainly sympathise with the sentiment behind the comment; but it does raise the question of:

"In the equity market, where do you see an acceptable margin of safety at the moment?"

A totally serious question as I'm 20% cash at the moment and looking for VALUE...

RNS today: Montoya increase their stake by 2,000,000 shares

Also AVR said in March 2010 that:

"Carrying value of portfolio of rare and high quality coins increased to
GBP10.34 million (2009: GBP9.64 million)"

That was in March.

And the market cap today is circa £7.5m

How about a takeover by Noble a very big possibility?

Last comment on this board was in March:
Gold has risen more than 20% From March 1 to Now.
Silver is up by 50% during the same period.
WTF are the coins that AVR hold made out of Chocolate ?
No. Coco's up to.
I'm holding this stock for many months to make tiny gains.
Another dilemma of should I stay or should I go.

Likewise - hold in a snooze corner of my SIPP; but the chart suggests a gradual rise to 10p - if achieved within a year that would be anything but snooze performance!
