Discussing why Inmarsat would come in with an offer at FIVE times the market cap
Why would they possibly do that? Question everyone had when we first wrote about this.
I think there iss a simple explanation.
Inmarsat had put a first bid in a circa small premium to market price.
But then they spoke to some of the US investors who are propping this thing up.
MAST is one of them, Boston based
These guys are not walking away, they hold big lumps of both the bonds and the equity
Inmarsat realised to stand any chance of getting them onside, the offer would have to be full
Simple as that
I just don't think the Americans will let this run into the ground.

$1bn of kit is up in the air
The US take a different view on profit timelines. Happy to hold and await developments

14:41 Monday 15 August 2016 Homeowners, businesses and community organisations are being encouraged to avail of a new subsidised broadband scheme across Antrim and Newtownabbey. The ‘Rural Superfast Broadband Scheme’ is available to interested parties who have slow or no broadband. The initiative is being promoted by the council and Avanti Communications. Interested parties are encouraged to visit the trial Wi-Fi point in the Sixmile Leisure Centre. The deadline for registration for the Rural Superfast Broadband Scheme has been extended for a final time, until November 2016.

Pan-African air traffic project to improve aviation safety

The SBAS-AFRICA project led by Avanti Communications deploys a satellite-based augmentation system testbed which uses two Avanti satellites, ARTEMIS and HYLAS 2. A navigation transponder onboard the ARTEMIS spacecraft provides navigation data broadcast services to aircraft operating over Africa. The HYLAS 2 satellite ensures reliable high-performance data communications for the SBAS infrastructure. This links GNSS monitoring stations in Africa with navigation data processing platforms in Europe.
