AAuhua Clean Energy (ACE) Rose 20% on $50M Dollar Takeover Rumours

Auhua Clean Energy was a major riser today with intense buying after rumours emerged of its main shareholder and backer Rowsley Limited is having to fend off suitors as Chinese multi nationals target Auhua Clean Energy.

Talk in China is Auhua’s technology which is deemed as best in class as well as being officially recommended by China’s Building Materials,

Auhua Clean Energy, the specialist split-unit solar water heater system products group based in the Shandong province of China, has reported that trading for the first half year has been in line with expectations.

It has also announced further milestones including the establishment and implementation of industry standards for the split-unit solar water heater industry in Shandong, which Auhua has been a key adviser to.

The Company has signed memorandums of understanding with four large conglomerates for use of Auhua's split-unit solar water heaters for their property projects.

The Company has also been awarded the "Official Recommended Building and Engineering Product" by the Building Materials Department from the China Association for Engineering Construction Standardisation.

Auhua is currently the only official recommended supplier of split-unit solar water heaters in the whole of China.

And this has attracted a number of suitors including, Suntech who are one of China’s first solar energy companies and is now the world’s largest silicon solar panel producer.

The company has grown quickly since its establishment in September 2001 and now has a presence in 80 countries worldwide and a dynamic research and development team spread across five countries.

One of the company’s key milestones was winning a contract to supply the solar panels for the revolutionary Bird’s Nest 2008 Olympics Arena in Beijing – a 130 kW solar installation.

The business has also successfully penetrated the western market by establishing its first U.S. factory in Arizona on January 2010.

Suntech’s technology now ranks among the best in the world after attaining a photovoltaic conversion efficiency of 19% for mono crystalline solar cells and 17% for polycrystalline photovoltaic cells in 2009 and attained the 2 GW (gigawatt) mark in 2011.

Also in the frame is Sharp Solar a subsidiary business of the Japanese electronics giant, Sharp.

The company has been developing solar power solutions for more than 50 years and has secured a large consumer base and is well trusted in the industry.

Sharp Solar was the first of all solar energy companies to achieve 2 GW of solar cells.

They have repeatedly broken world records for solar cell conversion efficiency achieving 14.4% for polycrystalline photovoltaic module in 2008 and 35.8% for triple junction

Accounts receivables increased to RMB90.7 million (GBP9.0 million), up 20 per cent. from last year of RMB76.0 million (GBP7.9 million). The Group nevertheless, maintained cash balances of RMB47.0 million (GBP4.6 million) as at 31 December 2014 compared to RMB48.7 million (GBP4.8 million).

The Company has performed strongly amidst the slower growth in the Chinese economy and the sluggish property sector. This is largely because the Chinese government remains committed in the renewable energy sector and in particular, the promotion of solar technologies in building developments. The Company was recently awarded a technology accolade by the Weihai Science and Technology Department for its technology advancements in solar thermal panel efficiency. Demand for solar thermal projects remains strong among the property developers in China.

David Sumner, Chairman and Non-Executive Director of Auhua, said: "We are delighted with this sound set of financial results which reflect steady revenues, solid profit before tax, a healthy cash balance and strong gross margins. We're a company which has succeeded in one of the largest provinces in China and have an international market for our solar panel production. Due to our global business model, we are largely sheltered from the imbalance of supply and demand currently affecting other Chinese solar specialists. Our acquisition of Taiwan Ziolar has significantly enhanced our overall product offering, underpinning the acute need for continuous investment into research and development. Remaining at the cutting-edge of technology in the solar market is core to the success of our business."

Just under 10,000 bought today, just in case. I am not expecting much as trades have been very infrequent, some days none at all. If JSI is anything to go by then it will be a dud.

Between the two of them just about breaking even at the moment.

Bottom draw stuff for the few shares involved. We never know.

May do the same with RRR and RGM(just a few £100 in each)......only need a couple to do good. Have none of those two at the moment.

The main ones I have with larger funds are doing well.

Very short of buyers here. Many are already in this with huge losses I guess. At least selling should be small now. Will take a few months to reverse and rise substantially.

This was 28 pence on the 17th April and most of the trades that day were buys! What caused the huge fall? Must be a genuine reason.
