As I stated in previous post , a domicile move to Wales together with a relocation of the Bristol MCT office would be good for ARL and cost very little.

Terrific achievement for Siemens perhaps, who have finally managed to offload a loss-making enterprise. Atlantis now need to be brutal about the projects they keep on. Pleasantly surprised by the share price rise though :-)

Atlantis Resources Acquires Marine Current Turbines From Siemens

Tidal power group Atlantis Resources Ltd (ARL.LN) Wednesday said it has agreed to acquire Bristol-based tidal business, Marine Current Turbines Ltd from conglomerate Siemens AG (SIEGY) in exchange for 10% of the enlarged group.

Hard to evaluate but the market seems to view the news as positive

The Saltire Prize, which was launched to great fanfare by Alex Salmond in 2008, requires contestants to operate continuously for two years, generating at least 100 gigawatt hours of electricity by June 2017.

But with the deadline in sight, industry sources have admitted none of the four competitors is sufficiently advanced to meet the qualifying criteria.


The firm seen as the frontrunner, MeyGen Ltd, will spend most of this year building an access road and other onshore works around the village of Mey, Caithness.

The first underwater turbines will only be installed in the second half of next year, weather permitting, leaving insufficient time to meet the challenge.

Other competitors have also privately admitted they not in a position to land the £10million prize.

He also gave a good presentation at our Beckenham Mello event nearly a year ago. I think his presentation was filmed though so it should have been seen by quite a few more investors but agreed I think his presentation clashed with the ShareSoc Masterclass event at Derby too.

I find it quite bizarre that this one has been completely stuck in share price for two solid months as if suspended which it clearly is not !

Must move soon. I have just bought some and hope that a bit of activity will bring it to life. It is 25% cheaper than when they presented at Derby for the Mello2014 event and I thought it was good value then.
