gc...I don't know of course, but I've looked at today's bargains in detail and the first thing I noticed was that the 12500 at 155.75 was a late booked bargain from 8.34 and actually a buy...

so...I calculate there were c32,000 sells and 25,000 buys...although interestingly if you set aside that item, all the last 10 bargains were sells...and the price held up...which is what led me to surmise that there may be a large bargain being worked in the background...

so that's quite optimistic...

add to that, it is reasonable to expect an RNS soon, especially to give an update on the 4th quarter production...hopefully it will say that we have been running at nameplate capacity for weeks and generating positive cashflows...

meanwhile, as others have pointed out, the copper price has been very strong today and held up even better than gold and silver...the Chinese New Year approaches and all of these metals should be in demand...

as to the MM who it was suggested above is bidding 151...I don't see how they can be relevant when I was bid 152 for 25000 shares and 153 plus for 15000...

so pulling it all together, the proper proper spread all afternoon should have been 156.4/160 and, if copper holds up, why shouldn't we push through 157 tomorrow...

in saying that, I realise 157 is a major resistance level, going back to December 2014...but the SP, the 20 and 50 day MAs are well above the 200 day MA (having crossed them 2 months ago...and the 20 and 50 day turned up again a week ago...

so if we do...tomorrow...or next week...we could be heading on towards the target levels of the brokers at between 190 and 217...

fingers crossed...frankly I don't know...but a remain very optimistic...

AIMHO as usual... (and this will probably get rubbished by the usual suspects... ;-)

hope that helps...cheers

Commodities

Oil futures rose 1.5 percent to settle at $53.01 a barrel in New York, after Saudi Arabia said it cut production even more than required by an OPEC deal.
Gold rose above $1,200 an ounce for the first time since November as the dollar sagged.
Copper added 1.2 percent to $5,779 a metric ton, the highest in a month after Indonesia confirmed a halt to concentrate exports. Zinc rose 1.4 percent.
U.S. natural gas rose 2.2 percent to $3.367 per million British thermal units as a Bloomberg survey showed inventories probably fell by 141 billion cubic feet last week.

We would have gone through the 157 today if we could have taken out the mm on 151.

I take it from the above that all those trades around 155-156 are sells?

And who says this is a thin market...as well as the huge bids above, I can now buy 10,000 at 160.3 and 15,000 at 160.7...

Holding my breath...

Dow Jones collapsing...

Platinum pushing $1000

silver pushing $17

Gold comfortably above $1200 and...

Copper over $2.65!

And everything in the garden is rosy...

All we need now is a production RNS and we're off to the races...

AIMHO as usual...

Somebody big is in the background...

While I can only buy 2500 at 159.999

I can sell 2500 at 156.3922

25000 at 153 plus

50000 at 152 plus and....

I am bid over 150p for my entire holding!!!!! That's well into six figures in cash!!!

This is only going one way IMHO...cork ready to pop...

AIMHO as usual...

Spoke directly with Alberto many months back and asked question regarding gold tailings and I'm sure he said that gold would need to be around $2k per Oz to make economically viable, so a bit to go before even thinking about extracting the gold.

In answer to the quesiton about MM behaviour and the current spread and to state the obvious, an MM will up the offer if they have a limit buy order. I can't see why they would commit to a trade above any house limit they have if they were unable to move the stock, particularly if the stock in question is as thinly traded and tightly held as this one.

Shortarm - I have been wondering for a while whether it is one particular mm who is consistently low on the bid and if so why? anyone with L2 and more knowledge of mm behaviour able to comment?

Applying man maths to the old 'what should the share price be' with not much in the way of supporting evidence for the theory apart from wishful thinking and optimism..!

$2.00 Copper, zero profit, 80p achieved
$2.50 Copper, $50M EBITDA, 160p achieved
$2.75 Copper, $75M EBITDA, 240p rough estimate
$3.00 Copper $100M EBITDA, 320p wild estimate
$3.50 Copper $150M EBITDA 480p ..?
$4.00 Copper $200M EBITDA 640p ..?

Sorted.. :o)
