Associated British Foods plc (OTCMKTS:ASBFY) was upgraded by Zacks from a “sell” rating to a “hold” rating in a report issued on Tuesday

Telegraph market report:

"Associated British Foods bucked the trend, slipping 30p, or 0.9pc, to £30.64 as RBC Capital Markets cut its rating to “sector perform” from “outperform”. While the broker advised Primark’s impending entry into the US market should increase interest in the shares, Richard Chamberlain cautioned investors. “It is likely to take several years to to achieve brand scale there,” he said"

Retail sales in Britain saw a small increase in May as a drop in clothing sales was offset by a stronger performance from supermarkets.

The volume of retail sales rose 0.2% in May following strong growth of 0.9% in April, according to figures from the Office for National Statistics.

Clothes sales fell 1.6% between April and May, the biggest drop since September. The weather played its part, with the April figures boosted by warm weather, while last month was cooler than usual, deterring shoppers from buying summer clothes.
