Oh yes!! You rotten lot are having fun aren't you. I shall remember it.

One day (not certain when) my time will come and dreams of riches which would make Croesus envious will come to pass. Yea verily.

In the meantime I'm off to get one of those food parcels they give to the needy. If I'm in luck it will include a dented tin of peaches.

I see 1700 was tested again but just about held.

US on holiday Monday.

Living in hope with AHT is ok provided you do not have an open position resting on it.....I know!

Yes a little odd. AHT currently up 2.88%. URI currently up 0.07%.

1600? Improbable.
AS you know always live in hope.
I've made a small long on URI expecting it to follow AHT but that looks to be going pear shaped.
Cheers

1600? Improbable. Even to-days gap fill unlikely. What about long from 1700?

"and then a bounce for us longs!"
==================================

Now you are definitely being greedy!

I doubt Mrs Yellen will do anything to rock the boat. I watched her yesterday. It was a repeat of previous appearances. She steered the middle ground and avoided the loaded political questions.

I would suspect that the FED are waiting to see what Mr Trump does with taxes, particularly Corporation Tax.

Looks like some of the froth is subsiding, you may well get your wish (1700ish revisited), and then a bounce for us longs! Interesting to see what happens when the U.S. markets open.

I note that Janet Yellen has another session today. Let's hope she has no surprises in store to unsettle the markets...

No. I should have. Another staggering rise.

Following such a large rise it is 'reasonable' to expect a retrace, it has done so previously. At best a retest of 1700 appears to be my best chance but it didn't hesitate at 1700 on the way up.

Just as well I kept the stakes small but it's unpleasant all the same.

Ashtead boosted as BofA Merrill highlights attractive growth
(ShareCast News) - Ashtead got a boost on Wednesday as Bank of America Merrill Lynch upped its price target on the stock to 2,000p from 1,620p and reiterated its 'buy' rating.
The bank said Ashtead remains an attractive long-term investment opportunity, offering around 20% earnings per share compound annual growth rate for an attractive price-to-earnings rating of 12.6x to April 2018.

"The long-term growth story of structural and macro growth remains well entrenched with the added benefits of self-propelled growth fragmented markets and relatively placid competition," Merrill said.

In addition, it argued that tax reform in the US could add 14% to 20% to EPS.

Merrill pointed out that Ashtead generates 92% of its earnings before interest and tax in the US and has a relatively low interest cost line.

"Therefore, the net benefit of a reduction in the corporate tax rate from 35% to 20% is material."

Including the offset of disallowed interest costs against tax, it estimated that net benefit to full-year EPS could be around 14%. If the rate of tax was slashed to 15%, the benefit to EPS could be as high as 20% and this is not reflected in the shares, BofA said.

At 0947 GMT, the shares were up 2.5% to 1,707p.

Sympathy bracke.

That's a 105% gain in the last 12 months.

Those 3rd Qtr results on the 7 Mar will have to be pretty stunning to keep the price at these levels.

Nevertheless, fantastic for us long termers.
