04/10/2016 15:29 | Thanks bracke, always good to hear your views. Can't help feeling that markets are generally indulging in a bit of over exuberance, and the Deutsche Bank issues which were so much dictating market sentiment last week have yet to be resolved, so a general retrace would not be entirely unexpected imho. Interesting times, as always! | ianwwwhite
04/10/2016 14:52 | "1300 has not yet been tested from above. A retrace is due." ==================== And so it came to pass. | bracke
04/10/2016 13:15 | Good day ian 1100 or 1300 was obvious. The clever part would have been to have analysed which way. I didn't. The 1300 resistance is again obvious. The 1340 less so but not overly difficult. Friday is Non Farm Payroll. If the data is positive it will be difficult for the FED to avoid a rate rise. The US market is preparing for a rise. | bracke
04/10/2016 12:59 | Hi bracke Re post 52665 (3rd Oct): I have been waiting for the share price to make up its mind ie. 1100 or 1300. It has now done so and (drum roll) IT'S 1300!! * First resistance Zone 1300. * Second resistance Zone 1340. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Good call bracke, looks like you were right on the money, give or take a few pesos! | ianwwwhite
04/10/2016 10:04 | Good day fenners Trust you are well and living in the lap of luxury courtesy of AHT. The fall in the £ against the $ has been very beneficial for the share price and propelled it above 1300. It will be interesting to see how the share price reacts when the £ rises. 1300 has not yet been tested from above. A retrace is due. | bracke
03/10/2016 23:00 | Still here and reading every word. | fenners66
03/10/2016 14:52 | I should think so too. | bracke
03/10/2016 14:16 | bracke I am extremely satisfied. Cheers | 2flatpack
03/10/2016 12:16 | Some people are never satisfied!! | bracke
03/10/2016 11:25 | What a boring share. Cheers | 2flatpack
03/10/2016 10:35 | Good day ian I have been waiting for the share price to make up its mind ie. 1100 or 1300. It has now done so and (drum roll) IT'S 1300!! First resistance Zone 1300. Second resistance Zone 1340. | bracke
30/9/2016 16:40 | Whoa! Ashtead Fridays are back! Closed 1271p, +22p or +1.8% In the face of a difficult week in the markets, AHT has proved surprisingly resilient. However the problems with our nemesis, Deutsche B are far from over, is this the lull before the storm? Can't help feeling a bit of schadenfreude as far as DB is concerned. More worrying is that posters on this board seem to have disappeared! Is everyone hiding behind the sofa? Has bracke embarked on his dream of a mis-spent old age retirement? Yes you are right, copyright for this posting belongs to a rather mellow glass of red! | ianwwwhite
27/9/2016 07:23 | Credit Suisse upgrade from under perform share price 770 to neutral and 1150.Not quite as bad as DB but still way off the mark......and slow to realise it!.DD | discodave4
26/9/2016 17:31 | The chart is starting to have the look of a 'head and shoulders' about it. I am not a follow of such patterns preferring metrics over patterns but I try to keep an open mind. | bracke
26/9/2016 17:17 | "I was always concerned when asked to write something in a bare trust that if a kid grew into a tearaway, like bracke clearly was in his youth, they may just blow the lot on fast cars, women and drink and subsequently rely on charts to make amends." ==================== You'r close uppompeii but you've got it rear about face. A misspent youth; Oh how I wish! I am now trying to correct this omission albeit somewhat later in life. I am hoping that charting and the riches I achieve from it will enable me to have a very misspent later life. I can but hope and dream. | bracke
26/9/2016 16:29 | Thanks Bracke, very interesting and as always much appreciated. | deadcatbounce
26/9/2016 16:04 | Uppompeii Lol! Many thanks for your comments on bare trusts. In conclusion, each of the grandchildren are also candidate beneficiaries of a small family discretionary trust, so hopefully this will encourage them to show a bit of financial prudence if they wish to benefit! As for brackes misspent youth, at least he is now making amends by steering a lot of us through the turbulence of the stock market. Penance indeed! | ianwwwhite
26/9/2016 15:13 | Ian, no that covers it really but the downside is really lack of control and the full access at 18. I was always concerned when asked to write something in a bare trust that if a kid grew into a tearaway, like bracke clearly was in his youth, they may just blow the lot on fast cars, women and drink and subsequently rely on charts to make amends. Retaining control can avoid this and can delay access until they are more mature. Still it quite likely won't come to that in your case and any trust is better than none. | uppompeii
26/9/2016 13:48 | No problem ian uppompeii doesn't get out much so a 'conversation' will be of benefit to him. | bracke
26/9/2016 11:50 | Ps your grandson sounds much like bracke albeit with good returns! ? | uppompeii
26/9/2016 11:49 | Ian, that's excellent and a good decision regarding the trust. Did you consider a flexible one, bare trusts are pretty difficult beasts in the wrong situation? | uppompeii
26/9/2016 10:05 | They take it up, they take it down. 1300 or 1100 place your bets! Good day deadcat As you can see from the chart below Standard Life has dropped out of the range and is headed for the Median Line (red middle). I suspect it will want to test the previous swing low at the 38.2% fib. STANDARD LIFE 4 HOURS | bracke |
