28/11/2016 13:55 | BNC's stated medium-term C3 target remains in the range of $5,000/t - $6,000/t over the medium-term. If, as many expect, the nickel price stays above $10,000/t, investors can clearly calculate the price dynamics shifting in Trojan's favour. Additionally, once the smelter is in full production next year, BNC's percentage of the market price increases demonstrably. Couple this with transport savings, arising from shipping leach alloy instead of the much bulkier concentrate, and margins increase steadily. In this respect, management believes BNC has weathered the worst of the storm. Operating costs are well under control and with the smelter coming on stream at a time when the nickel price is normalising, it's reasonable to expect BNC's future to be much brighter than in the recent past. -------------------- At $12,000/tonne / 85% is c.$10,000/tonne C3 cost $6000/tonne 7.5k tonnes p.a. x $4,000/tonne profit = $30m p.a. | the stigologist
28/11/2016 13:43 | Based on the last smelter update which I think was the RNS in Sept after AGM, it was Q1 2017 | redtrend

28/11/2016 12:15 | Posted 5 hours ago. "The copper price added 7.7% last week, while nickel rose more than 6% and tin continued its good run. Both zinc and lead enjoyed double digit gains with the former reaching a near nine-year high. In a new report BMI Research, a unit of Fitch, says the gains in metal prices this year is set to continue in 2017 thanks to infrastructure spending in China and to some extent in the US and the UK, but at a much more modest pace. The researcher also cautions about the outlook beyond 2017 as the withdrawal of Chinese stimulus could increase the risk of a fallback in some commodities particularly coal and iron ore." | skidaddle
28/11/2016 12:07 | Just chipped in with another 20,000. | casabella2
28/11/2016 11:34 | On one level ( a backwards looking analysis) AP Findley is right. ASA tends to trade as a Nickel stock as this picture attempts to show. Someone more clever than me can combine the charts? However that makes two positive points for the future 1. ASA Gold separate listing seems a good idea as no value is given to Gold in ASA share price 2. The historic backwards looking chart doesn't take into account ASA having BNC smelter back in operation and ready to take advantage of higher nickel prices ASA + BNC gives opportunity for SUPERNORMAL profits | the stigologist
28/11/2016 10:03 | AP - still spouting completely false statements, sticking to the same line you had when ASA was 0.5p. | redtrend
