Austrader, if you are so confident about GeoCosmo's ability to predict earthquakes, then please take my advice and have the company consult with actual experts in seismology and geophysics. And no, they have NOT successfully forecast 20 earthquakes - these claims are total quackery and potentially dangerous to Arria. Somebody at the company should have done the diligence on this. It's just sad to see.

I would suggest consulting USGS or New Zealand's own GNS Science (hxxp://www.gns.cri.nz/) for further background. No real scientist would claim to be able to predict earthquakes.

Friedemann T. Freund is not "one of the world's most greatest scientists" (sic). Stop making stuff up. And in any case his expertise is in crystallography and chemistry, not geophysics.

Blog: How Do You Know Your Artificial Intelligence is Intelligent?
September 27, 2016
By Matt Gould

Artificial intelligence (AI) is already all around us: It’s the mobile personal virtual assistant, and the Google-created computer program that defeated the world’s champion of the ancient Chinese board game, Go. It’s the self-driving car that soon will be taking you to the office. There’s no doubt machines are smarter than ever, and getting smarter all the time.
For all their abilities, there’s one particular area of intelligent behavior where machines fall short of humans—an area becoming increasingly important as AI takes on more complex tasks. They must communicate with the same fluency and articulation expected of humans so they can explain precisely what they are doing and provide interpretations of the complex data sets upon which they increasingly rely.
So how do we give machines this ability? The solution lies in natural language generation (NLG), a technology that applies information analysis skills to large data sets that previously were unique to humans and communicates that information coherently and fluently in natural language.
This ability goes far beyond the outputs we see from programs such as Siri and Cortana. A typical intelligent virtual assistant (IVA) responds to user requests by using a large array of simple templates filled in with data related to the response. For questions that can’t be handled by the IVA’s built-in capabilities, the fallback response is to read out a chunk of an existing Web page—text written at some earlier point by a person. Neither approach is capable of scaling up to the needs of a truly dynamic AI, where required responses can’t be predicted in advance and must be more personalized than is possible using pre-written text.
It’s easiest to see the massive impact that NLG can have by considering the contrast with systems that rely on charts and graphs to convey information. Suppose your stock portfolio has experienced a wide range of fluctuations over the past year; you’ve been able to stay afloat despite the changes, but you wonder about the long-term impact on your portfolio. A management tool provides plenty of graphs and charts with red and green arrows to direct your attention to important data. But it’s hard to comprehend the impact of global events on stock price if they don’t fit on the graph. The lack of information constrains you to look elsewhere, leading users to yet another graph or chart. In trying to make sense of what happened and what might happen in the future, you get what’s been called “dashboard fatigue,” the sense of being overwhelmed that comes from trying to comprehend all of these disparate data sources.
Graphs and charts are great at conveying simple information but fail at relating lots of different sources of information. As humans, when we need to do that, we use language—the best data aggregator ever developed.
NLG gives that same ability to machines. With the click of a button, a narrative report is generated in real time. All the pieces of the puzzle—current events, risks, trends, new stocks, revenue reports—are brought together to provide the best insights on your portfolio and careful recommendations for how to succeed in the short and long term. This is the value-add of NLG—the ability to take the data and communicate important information as an expert would to a non-expert.
When you ask Siri for today’s weather report, you’ll get a response that is built on simple templates. But those templates will become cumbersome as the weather reporting functionality becomes more complex, more personalized and more intelligent. The app will know that you’re considering an afternoon hike and can warn you that it might be cold and windy on the hills and provide a personal recommendation for what you should take in your day pack. But the variety of possible responses here are unmanageable using templates; you need the sophistication of NLG.
As technology improves, the only way you’ll really know you’re interacting with a true AI is when it communicates back to you just as a human would; and for that you need NLG.

Oh, so this is the "division of NASA" you were referring to then, Austrader?
"GeoCosmo, a leader in the earthquake forecasting community"

LOL - as if there is even such a thing as an "earthquake forecasting community".

Did anyone at Arria bother to check the credentials and reputation of GeoCosmo with the USGS, GNS Science in New Zealand or ANY other reputable geophysical organization? It is total pseudoscience.

Arria should be running as fast as possible away from them. Instead, if these crackpots actually try to predict an earthquake and cause mass panic, Arria is leaving itself right in the firing line for any lawsuits that may eventuate.

Hi Aja5

If you have read through my posts you will realise that
1. I don't take as gospel the scribblings of any poster on any investor BB, re listing price, business progress or the debt for equity swap.
2. I do not for one minute believe a listing will take place at $2 NZ because of exactly what you have said, e.g. why would an investor buying 10 million shares pay $2 to buy in a few months time when they can pay circa 40 cents now, unless of course there is a realisation from said investors that trying to buy such a volume on AIM would soon move the price well beyond $2 NZ given such a small free float.
3. I agree that recent funding has been expensive to say the least and to an extent has smacked of desperation.
4. I believe that unless any listing at any premium is backed up by positive revenue news it will result in a sell off in quick time.
5. I also fully understand that no reported trade can ever be taken at face value as either a buy or sell.

However irrelevant of whether recent trades are buy or sells my point was that in relative terms the selling price is holding up well of late against what has been decent volume within the context of average volumes for this stock, and that even if I try to buy a tiny amount of stock I am having to pay close to full price. That to me is positive.

You make a good point about the prospectus however I would hope that is part of the information to be released at some point in the next couple of weeks as indicated by a recent RNS.

As such my overall point was that I still like the technology, its application and recent products however I will be a lot more confident when the required fundraising is delivered, via listing or other means, and at todays price or any premium if it is a listing.

Regards and best of luck to you.

Arria NLG plc ("Arria NLG", or "Arria")
Partnership agreement with GeoCosmo Sciences SP

Arria NLG (AIM: NLG), a world leader in artificial intelligence ("AI") and natural language generation ("NLG"), and GeoCosmo Sciences SPC ("GeoCosmo"), a global project based out of NASA's Ames Research Park in California, is pleased to announce a partnership to build precision NLG capabilities into the GeoCosmo Earthquake Forecasting ServiceTM to improve communication and advance notification of the deadliest natural disasters.

GeoCosmo, a leader in the earthquake forecasting community, is on a mission to bring life- changing safety technology to at-risk populations. To date, GeoCosmo has forecasted 22 out of 22 3.1 magnitude and above earthquakes in their South American test area since sensors were deployed in 2012. They are currently developing forecasting services that will be able to detect major earthquakes days and weeks ahead of their occurrence. GeoCosmo's new technology leverages semiconductor physics, satellites and big data algorithms to pick up detectable precursory signals from Earth's tectonic plates, and identify disasters before they happen.
With Arria's partnership, GeoCosmo will be able to bridge the data distance between semiconductor physics and plain language. Arria's technology will be used to automate the analysis of seismic event data and report on large data sets in real time. Such reports and dynamic dashboards, in English and other languages can include status and alerts for dissemination to appropriate authorities, media and populations.
Earthquakes are the deadliest of all natural disasters - over the last 100 years, they have caused millions of deaths and cost the global economy trillions of dollars. Just this past month, over 290 people were killed in a 6.2 magnitude earthquake in Italy.
Charles Gonzales, Chief Executive Officer of GeoCosmo, said: "This technology will improve the way we travel and interact with the earth. Not only will this add an incredible safety feature to society both locally and globally, it will provide time to prepare for potentially devastating seismic disasters and protect local and global communities - something we have been unable to do until now."
Sharon Daniels, Chairman and Interim Chief Executive Officer of Arria NLG, commented: "Through this relationship with GeoCosmo, Arria's platform will soon be able to interpret complex sources of scientific data to communicate incredibly valuable information to affected communities. Arria is committed to this kind of mission-based strategic partnership that uses AI to accelerate the way we understand, interpret and share information to improve the way we live."

Kcr......this market is as bent as you can imagine then double that,so don't be fooled by any sales/buys declared on ANY stock !!

Regarding Nlg......where is the volume ??? If whispers are coming out from down under are what you hear about here people should be piling in....NO
Where is the prospectus??
The same whispers that talked about $2 NZ also said they were struggling with the debt for equity swap....

All the while that last lot of emergency funding raises serious concerns, now if you put a positive spin on it it was used to get rid of the last two running the shop.......but we have been told on here how wonderfully things were going/all according to plan.......

HI Kidnocked, that may well be true but I am not privy to any information to suggest my concerns are misguided.

Once I see an RNS stating fundraising and listing has been approved then my stance and comfort factor changes considerably.

And besides you would make a blind pollyanna look pessimistic when it comes to this stock.

Hi Aja5

It is my single biggest concern, hence my view that irrelevant of product offerings which do genuinely look excellent, getting the listing and fundraising away at any price, let alone a premium is the news I want to hear most. Clearly a premium would be a bonus.

Having said that, I am less concerned about any interest due to loan note holders as the numbers involved are fairly minimal, and given the shareholding (and likely wealth) of the small group of core owners, I just can't see this being allowed to develop into an administration type issue which would be at their own vast expense.

It is also interesting to note that to date over the past two days, nearly 200,000 shares have been sold, yet I can't get a price lower than 17.9p to buy 100. The market is smoke and mirrors but it has to suggest somebody is simply absorbing shares at the moment, which is clearly positive.

So, I remain a nervous investor here but one who is relatively enthused by recent market action, but will be a huge amount happier when (lets hope its not an if) I see news of a listing and accompanying fundraising.

Always good to hear your views to the contrary.

Regards

Running out of money may well be problematic don't you think ??
You know the £8.5 million required fund raising is dependant on the new listing don't you........
Looks like they are struggling to me,and they did say without the money they will be unable to continue as a going concern!!!
