Tanzanian mining register to be sorted this fridayBy Azania Post ReporterPRESIDENT Dr John Magufuli has said he is not impressed by the performance of the Ministry of Minerals in Tanzania urging officials to increase speed.Speaking soon after he swore in Dotto Biteko as the new deputy minister for minerals, at State House in Dar es Salaam today Monday Jan 8, 2018 President Magufuli said officials of the ministry were too slow in making decisions.Citing he said already the Parliament has enacted a new Mining Act No 7, 2017 and president has signed it as a law but its regulations have not been signed."I signed this act in September last year, but still its regulations are not signed six months later while the Minister, Permanent Secretary and Commissioner for minerals are there why?" he queried.Dr Magufuli said he appointed two deputy ministers in the same ministry in order to serve more Tanzanians and bring development.He ordered the two deputy ministers to sit down and make sure that the new regulations are signed by the Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs Prof Palamagamba Kabudi before Friday this week.The minister for minerals is on leave, I direct you officials in the ministry to make sure that the new regulations are signed by Minister Kabudi before Friday this week in order to enable us implement some activities more smoothly.Explaining he said lack of the said regulations have made the government fail to do a lot of things such as auctioning of tanzanite mines."Last time I ordered to halt Tanzanite auction in Manyara due to lack of such regulations, we have a lot of things which do not go," he added.President Magufuli said must benefit from God-given minerals and that is why we must safeguard natural resource wealth.The new mining law which require the government to own at least a 16 percent stake in mining projects.The laws, which also increase royalties tax on gold and other minerals, were passed by parliament last year despite opposition from the mining industry body.On his part, Deputy Minister Biteko who is Bukombe legislator thanked President Magufuli for the trust he showed on him.He pledged to work more faithful and deliver according to the directives to be given by top leaders for the interests of Tanzanians. Following today's swearing in, the Mineral Ministry will now have a minister and two deputy ministers.Azania Post

Cracking results, looking forward to the JORC announcement later in the month. If they start mining we could be in double digits very quickly! Also the bulk sample is being sent to potential offtake partners. Very exciting stuff...i like how this year has started!

Wow excellent results. Very high purity achieved averaging 98.2% Total Graphitic Content ('TGC') -- Concentrate will be used for further downstream test work and for samples to be sent to prospective off-take partners -- JORC Resource modelling is ongoing and expected to be completed in January 2018 -- Drilling and Resource modelling is focused on upgrading the current Resource Category from Inferred to Indicated to support feasibility studies -- An RC drilling programme aimed at significantly increasing the size of the deposit is planned for Q2 2018 -- Feasibility study to commence in 2018, directly following completion of the scoping study in early 2018, with the objective of reaching a decision to mine in the near term

Further to the announcement of 11 July 2016, the Company has applied for 57,500,000 Ordinary Shares to be admitted to trading on AIM that were not admitted at that time due to an administrative error.

WTF? Oops, we forgot to apply for a mere 25% of the company shares to be admitted to trading?

I don't think 'incompetence' covers this adequately...

They need to release these at 7am for all the morning punters. I'm happy with the progress and happy to sit on my shares until this might even think about becoming a producer. I'm actually hoping that because these battery guys are working with existing miners they can do the study and mediate a deal for us to flog the whole project at either a cash sum or a royalty basis to a nearby producer. Quids in then lads....and this isn't too far fetched either before the doomers start bashing me.

2017: An Opportune Year For Graphite ProducersAt the end of last year, China announced they plan to stockpile graphite as one of their critical elements since production is likely to continue falling, and this year, Chinese spot graphite electrode prices recently reached $30,000 per MT, a 300% increase since January, demonstrating the serious nature of the looming supply deficit and leaving the door wide open for new projects.The growth in the markets for electric vehicles and grid storage systems should be enough to drive graphite prices even further, which, in the absence of new projects coming online, may ultimately close some smaller steel refineries as costs begin to spiral. Construction will still play a major role in graphite demand, but China's construction sector will largely just continue to restrict their export of graphite products since the stockpiles will be consumed domestically.Graphite is about to explode in popularity, and the world's largest supplier of the material is unable to scale as quickly as it once could. This puts junior explorers and burgeoning producers in an enviable position since very few new graphite projects have been listed over the last couple of decades, and any investor looking for exposure should consider getting in sooner rather than later.
