18/2/2005 16:34 | How many years have you been dabbling in the stock market Hypocrite? | benchmark
18/2/2005 16:24 | Surprisingly I dont disagree with you Benchmark......that the company has been slow to blow it's bugle is an understatement...and the House Broker even slower..... All I am doing is stating the FACTS about the company that any broker analyst could tell the market....if he had been interested in doing so!!! Caveat Emptor | hypocrite
18/2/2005 16:23 | robinbell - 11 Feb'05 - 20:56 - 473 of 961 edit assuming that the same tonages are mined in each half year then the change in the price of Zn drops straight through to the bottom line. So profit H1 2004 was 1.0 Million Euros (based on gross metal value 34.2 Million Euros - source Interim report 2004) Extrapolating my estimate for the Zn price in H2 is down 4% and Pb up 15%. The implication is a lower profit for H2 2004. Anywhere between break even and another 1.0 million Euros. (Final report due april ish) However, the price of Zn today is 19% higher than the average of H1 2004. If that is applied to the gross metal value and that drops straight through then that is an extra 6.5 Million Euros. That is an estimated profit in H1 2005 of 7.5 Million Euros (or 15 Million Euros per annum). The current market capitalisation is just over 50 Million Euros. If you believe that the price of Zn (in Euros) will rise (or at least stay at the level its reached now) then this has got to be a buy. | robinbell
18/2/2005 15:53 | I have been holding Arcon since before the share price collapsed back in '98/'99. Easy to say I should have got out of them completely on the way down, but I didn't - I sold just 50%. So, I'm stuck with the rest and have written off my initial investment. Anything from here on would be a pleasant surprise. I am not at all happy with the management of the company ... the O'Reillys own far too much of it and their record of returning value to shareholders isn't very high to say the least! An MBO at a ridiculously low price is always a prospect. For this reason, I would advise any newcomer to this share to look at it from a few different angles before dipping in. | benchmark
18/2/2005 15:48 | Well Hypocrite, having seen your ramp about this on the Minco thread, I've come over to have a look. I've trawled back over some previous posts to find drivel such as: Hypocrite - 18 Feb'05 - 10:00 - 902 of 959 16.5 million from 1 million last time? Hypocrite - 18 Feb'05 - 10:00 - 903 of 959 16.5 million from 1 million last time? Hypocrite - 18 Feb'05 - 10:00 - 904 of 959 16.5 million from 1 million last time? Hypocrite - 18 Feb'05 - 10:00 - 905 of 959 16.5 million from 1 million last time? Hypocrite - 18 Feb'05 - 10:00 - 906 of 959 16.5 million from 1 million last time? Hypocrite - 18 Feb'05 - 10:00 - 907 of 959 16.5 million from 1 million last time? Hypocrite - 18 Feb'05 - 10:00 - 908 of 959 16.5 million from 1 million last time? This might be the share of the century, but you could have posted a link to thread that doesn't go quite so over the top. Can anyone else tell me if there are any posts anywhere that will help me carry out some sensible research without having to read myriad posts of such garbage? | jungle jim
18/2/2005 15:41 | No, Red Dog is "ramping." Hypocrite is merely (and justifiably) getting carried away with the excitement. Dunno what % of his portfolio AIN is (but I'm sure it's quite substantial) ... and I was getting excited at today's rise - AIN was rather less than 2% of my portfolio this morning but rather more now. ;-) | chessfou
18/2/2005 15:31 | I am not the only one who believes Oakdene Homes (OKD) is a bloody good buy. From UK-Analyst.com: February 15th 2005 Shares in Oakdene Homes jumped 11p to 120.5p after it was revealed that financier Nigel Wray had bought 1.42 million shares in the house builder at 97.5p a share. This purchase takes Wray's beneficial and non-beneficial holdings in Oakdene up to 8.05% of the company. Note Nigel Wray is a major shareholder in www.t1ps.com, the parent of UK-Analyst.com. | red dog
18/2/2005 15:29 | hypo - you have to put a little more effort into the header - lets have a few charts and a link to a webpage. It is the least you can do after spending 4 hours ramping the nuts of this share. | britishbear
18/2/2005 15:23 | Don't be an ass! | benchmark
18/2/2005 14:43 | It's not as if I have just come up with the idea....... I have been putting Arcon's case VOCIFEROUSLY here for over 3 years.... If that's called ramping....what do you call saying nothing.... SILENCE? | hypocrite
18/2/2005 14:28 | If ADVFN gives a medal for Ramper of the Year - no doubt who will get it! Although might lose a lot of marks for subtlety if that is a criterion - a LOT of marks! | benchmark
18/2/2005 14:18 | Well all I can say is that I have gone to a great deal of trouble to publish, both, the Davy report of 2003.....yes...2003 was the last one they did when the stock was on its knees and zinc was $650 a ton... and, the Moneybags in Phoenix report of July 2004.....which is so accurate.....so basically the price you are buying at was the best price this sold for.... 6 cents or 4.2p through 3 years of complete disinterest on the part of Davy's... the company's House Broker. Caveat Emptor!!! | hypocrite
18/2/2005 13:56 | Hypo, calm down for a moment please, although I can understand your excitement (even though I only have a few of these). ;-) I don't normally waste breath commenting on L2 but something very strange just happened - I have all 4 MMs on the bid but only 3 on the offer ... Davy are not registering an offer ... ???!!! Any explanation (other than a system fault)? | chessfou
18/2/2005 13:34 | Sambo....you are bang on the button.....in the meat as they say.... I am the only Hypercrite on the advfn boards!!! | hypocrite
18/2/2005 13:28 | Hypo (more like Hyper) I was just thinking last night how annoying the majority of your posts are, but you've outdone yourself today. Also the thrust of your 400 odd posts was misleading at best. Davy seem to be suggesting that 2005 will produce 16.5m PBT. However the 1m figure you are quoting is for 2004 H1, we haven't had H2 results yet. I think full year 2004 should come in somewhere between 5m and 8m. Although this isn't based on any serious number crunching. Anyway the price rise is long overdue and should hopefully continue. Sam | sammu
