Posted at 30/3/2009 13:15 by martin c-j Is anyone of the opinion that Pat Ryan took this down deliberately? Did APN really have a cats chance of surviving based on so called record revenues? What was the real reason for the failure of the company? Was it the fact that they ran out of cash and the banks refused to lend due to the credit crunch. Or were they always a busted flush and we just got sucked in to the press releases claiming they were wonderful??? |

This was the email I recieved the day of suspension... Dear ........ Thank you for your email. The trading was suspended in order to investigate the drop in a share price. According to our management explanation another company with trading name APN from Australia have sold their shares thus the misunderstanding. Management team assured that company is still moving forward and trying to raise the funds. Best Regards Egle ermmmmm |

I did originally buy shares but sold out some time ago - fortunately at a small profit. To be honest, I lost faith in the new management. I'm so sorry for current shareholders - you deserve much better than this in my opinion.I'll be watching what happens between now and if/when this ends up at the administrators. Vas |

Posted at 02/11/2008 11:13 by cygnet4 What happened on Friday seems odd. Independent Newspapers say in the morning they are selling their stake in APN in Australia and our APN price crashes. Why not then issue a statement to clarify the position. Conversely if APN is in trouble it seems a coincidence that based on rumours its share price plumments at the same time as the Independent announcement. The company may need financing as this seems a regular event but if this was via a placing it then seems odd to suspend at less than 1p when a denial would have seen the price rebound. It may be that following the fall certain questions where asked of management and they ended up bringing forward the bad news. On balance it doesn't look very positive unless we get another announcement on Monday. |

I rang just after 2 pm and was told there were no Director's present or any management and that no-one would be available until Monday and was asked if I would like to leave a message to be contacted on Monday. Simple as that. The lad answering the phone did not have an unhelpful attitude or give the impression that he was just being obstructive. The reason I rang was to check what was behind the sudden share price drop in THEIR opinion, which I couldn't do, so I left it alone. Any modicum of reasoning will deduce that just because I couldn't speak to a senior member of APN does not suggest that this will fold and conversely, just because you write that you did speak to a senior member of APN does not suggest that this will succeed. As previously written, I hope it works out well for holders. As you have given your account of your contact with APN, so did I. |

However, at present, you cannot sell a single share online with Selftrade. Although this could just be a gross error by the mm's, I would be very wary of buying any share where you cannot sell a single share at all at a time when 99% of the trades in the last hour have been buys...... Something isn't right and people will either make a killing when APN makes an announcement, or it will be an unbelievable coincidence that sellers got in before some really, really bad news hits this APN. I can't tell which, so for that reason, no I wouldn't buy. H |
