16/12/2013 11:19 | Lokichar could well take this to $50 single handed. Then there is the Turkana basin just above......the Rift Valley basin in Ethiopia with seismic due back any day. That could be very interesting.......an Look what we got 50% of, then look what we got 30% of. Kind of starting to paint a picture. KH knows his stuff. Bring it on. | ih_370694
11/12/2013 19:43 | oversold now and back in buying territory. I will wait for the turn | juju44
10/12/2013 16:59 | It was a double basin flop with Bahasi as well yesterday, still Lokichar is more than enough and a few other sub-basins to try out | fraserdean
09/12/2013 21:30 | i reckon Kenya will help us make a fortune here but not Ethopia | juju44
09/12/2013 20:57 | Juju44 - if we'd opened a second basin, it would have made a big impact, I think. Bad news, but I wouldn't write Ethiopia off just yet. | runster
09/12/2013 19:26 | It never was going to be a game changer here so the price fall provides a top up opportunity | juju44
09/12/2013 17:59 | Ethopia a bummer again - time to get out of there | juju44
04/12/2013 11:03 | ooooooh!!!! Yes!!!! just read post 2370.....have you any idea W1 how pleased I am by your obvious rage, difference is I wont retort like that and I wont report you either, if that was me, Id be barred from ADVFN because you would have reported me, I dont sink to that level like you. Im just pleased you were so bugged by my presence. It is very satisfying, because thats what you tend to do to others. Im getting better returns elsewhere. Bye for now. | marty51
04/12/2013 10:53 | W1 you havent got the time to answer a perfectly civil request on the Board, but you seem to have all the time in the world to go from one disagreement to the next. I dont believe for one minute you went to Kenya, you would have had your first argument with the travel agent booking the flight and stayed in the bedsit venting your frustrations on a computer where people can only type back at you. It is all you have going on in your life, the shares you own are irrelevant. Nitpicking is your holy grail. I must say if its anything to be pleased about, you are world class at being pointless. | marty51
02/12/2013 11:24 | Kenya is going to save Tullow as it will be huge. It will take AOI north of $50 in due course - why go anywhere else | juju44
02/12/2013 11:22 | martinfrench, O/T Best acreage in Kenya is already gone, Swala is as good as any other. Not much of a case for Swala other than its a cheap small oiler in an upcoming frontier, but how many of those are there in Kenya? (Simba, Vanoil etc). You've got AOI and they are the best bet by miles - BECAUSE they have PROVEN they have the resources, and can keep building success on their vast turf over and over again. All these other little oilers are 'potential' nothing more. You want another AOI? Here you go, look at LEKOIL 'LEK'. Just going over their OGO and OGO-sidetrack results (17% participating interest, 30% economic interest - they are a Nigerian indigenous outfit, so receive special treatment) = OGO, 516ft gross pay, netpay 216ft. OGO-ST, same HC bearing zones encountered as at OGO, (500ft?) + 280ft encountered in deeper Syn-rift = gross-pay 800ft!!!. They then state - 'additional upside is expected in the syn-rift' play. It has already been hailed as one of the most important discoveries offshore West-Africa in recent time. One broker has called it GIANT even before appraisals have begun. Afren and LEK estimate initial gross RECOVERABLE resources to be 774mmbboe-1180mmboe. It would seem OGO prospect and EKO prospect have been proven to be linked, thus forming one major oil&gas field. Astonishingly, LEK is still off most peoples radar, at £200mln marketcap, $70mln cash in the bank, assets in Namibia and Nigeria. Basically, LEK are where AOI were when they made the breakthrough discovery with Ngamia - LEK's lead partner Afren have mapped 9 other look-a-like prospects on the same block as the discoveries! 02/12/2013 11:04 | warnado......can you let us know when the next field trip or talk in stockholm is planned. I am thinking of attending. | ih_370694
02/12/2013 10:51 | Warnado, Scroll back to the early days on aoi on this board and you will prob see me, but in those days there wasnt any real interest to speak of. I think you read me wrong on wanting a 3 page report from yourself posted to my email address, just a few lines and an opinion would have done but never mind we'll move on..... tackabrum, there are still a few more basins to open up, with upside here being 3-4 times current price being realistic however you need to decide if you want to enter a play with a proven competent oil team with a very good success rate or start from scratch with a junior still looking for the first strike. both appraoches have their merits just diff risks. | martinfrench
30/11/2013 22:35 | although am not invested here i must admit am in envy :-), will take a look at Swala Energy | tackabrum
30/11/2013 20:10 | warnado, was really asking your quick take on them didnt really expect the condescending attitude. i have prob been in aoi way before most on this board. | martinfrench
29/11/2013 11:42 | Don't give away too much W1 | ih_370694
28/11/2013 12:01 | Not all Kenyan explorers will be worth buying, the juiciest acreages will have been taken thats for sure but will look at SWE, if there is much to go on. Warnado, agreed on AIM stocks, what is your case for SWE? are they well capitalised and what is the bod previous success? | martinfrench
27/11/2013 17:15 | thanks for the heads up guys will have alook at both | itsonlyme2
27/11/2013 10:58 | Warnado1, o/t Thanks will do. Long live AOI (and their streak of drill successes;). The one that everyone here really should to take a look at (and its already bagged its first BIG strikes) is LEKOIL, ticker is 'LEK'. Afren and LEK have confirmed estimated gross RECOVERABLE resources are between 774-1180mmboe for OGO and OGO-ST in the update last week. That means net 232-354mmbboe to LEK (30%wi). At around £200mln marketcap, other assets in Namibia and $70mln cash in the bank, its pretty cheap considering the huge follow-on potential. An appraisal programme is being planned by AFR and the entire block is being readied for seismic (there are already 2-3 mapped analogues bigger than OGO oil&gas field on current seismic!!!). Take a look at it guys, its a Nigerian indigenous company so gets special treatment by bigger foreign partners like Afren. LEK has got success written all over it, what they have just discovered with Afren is potentially a sub-basin waiting to be discovered. Cash | cashandcard
27/11/2013 10:35 | Being a holder of AOI since Jan 2010 with a $1.16 average without parting with a single share so far and no plans to do so anytime soon but I can see another AOI in the making. Been a holder of a decent chuck now for a while with an average of AU$0.17 I would advise all to take a look at Swala Energy. AOI part 2 will happen with Swala. Make your own mind up but it is one must you check out. | warnado1 |
