Thought they would put up more a fight at support but new lows now.

If it closes below £1.50 further falls likely imo.

hpcg is right imo.

Where is the profit going to come from.

Expansion in Europe? Absolutely thwart with problems, look at Dixons still trying to sort the mess out years after they started and they have much more experience than AO.They recently announced they were selling struggling business's in Germany the very place AO are trying to start up!

Expanding into the TV market? Have you seen the price of TV's recently Panasonic 50" led under £350 can you really see much profit in that market.

Just cant see where the profit is going to come from.

tmmalik - what good news with that be? Competition is intense and service levels are all high in my experience. I have used AO World and John Lewis and I know people who have used Amazon. If they are all selling the same product, same warranty, offer next day delivery at a time of ones choosing, then price is the determining factor. So margins can't go up and it is only increasing margins which can cause profits.

That I keep seeing adverts on television, and I watch very little television, tells me margin could even be eroding.

If any holders have sense they will be trying to work out their positions just as soon as they can. The company makes no money and probably never will make money. Nor will it go bust. It just serves as a charity for consumers and I'm fine with that.

At ,give or take a smidge, October low now.

Lets see what happens should at least get some sort of bounce.

Personally I doubt we have seen the end of the selling that chart looks ugly.

Shorters firmly in control imo.

Article in today's Times:

"Short sellers have increased their bets that shares in AO World will continue to fall...."

19.4% of free float out on loan (up from 12.4% pre profit warning, average for FTSE 250 1.8%)

This share is fascinating, it appears to be bafflingly resilient. The company is extremely well run with what appears to be an excellent management team but I just can't fathom the share price.

I'm the same andy.

Find it quite incredible watching the twists and turns along the way.

How they managed to pull off that ipo at such a ridiculous and blatantly obvious overvalued price brings back memories of the height of the tech boom.

But I guess many in the market now weren't around then.

As they say the market never really changes only the players.

This could easily drop a lot further particularly if the market gets ugly as its held up pretty much by thin air.

strange share this. Can't buy it as the high price is irrational. Can't short it because irrational buyers are buying the dip. It should have tanked today (I had no position and still don't) yet it is managing to hold on. Worth watching but just for fun:)

FT a few minutes ago:

AO World shares falling 7.5% after full year loss
4 minutes ago

After the IPO, reality strikes.

Shares in AO World are falling 7.5 per cent this morning to 165 pence.

Following the online electrical goods retailer's blockbuster IPO last February, the shares popped 33 per cent, but have since tumbled more than 55 per cent lower.

AO World on Tuesday reported a pre-tax loss of £2.8m for the year to March due to a "challenging" trading environment.

The shares slumped 40 per cent when it issued a profit warning in February, and have fallen 49.7 per cent since their February peak.

AO World astonished the City last February with a massive IPO that gave it a market cap of £1.2bn and a valuation of 72 times projected earnings. At the time it had profits of less than £8m.

And The Telegraph is similarly unimpressed:

A cynic might presume that the timing and nature of Bill Holroyd's departure announcement perhaps suggests that the results are worse than he was led to believe they would be, and he doesn't want to stick around.. and that saying so within 30 minutes of the Results kinda makes the connection obvious.
