17/4/2008 08:58 | Well spotted Eddie. It seems the plot thickens - all in all I guess the auguries are for the better. The question is what happens next. Incidentally Barclays Stockbrokers told me that I must still make a call today regarding which option I want notwithstanding that the EGM has been postponed. | joan of arc
17/4/2008 07:49 | JOA, This article may be of more interest to you.. Both Nexus & Anzon up >6% in Oz. Edward Didgeridoo Catflap | eddie catflap
15/4/2008 22:37 | Eddie - very interesting. so we have 1 bit of good news and 1 of bad. | joan of arc
15/4/2008 20:28 | I know no more than you, Maid of Orleans but read the following taking particular note of the final paragraph as it comes to the same conclusion as i did. | eddie catflap
15/4/2008 19:00 | Well Eddie that doesn't take me much further forward. I was rather thinking that the news implied they had more oil than originally presumed and would therefore be looking for more money. | joan of arc
15/4/2008 12:38 | The takeover was put in doubt following last week's news; today's news may have assuaged Nexus's doubts, maybe not. Can't see why the price would go up unless another bidder entered the fray. There is an independant report stating the terms are reasonable to both parties. I feel there is no way of knowing but that it is between going ahead under the agreed terms or not going ahead. Given the scheme's consideration we would currently get 1 x Aus$1.16 and 1 x 1.12 Nexus shares which at current prices and exchange rates equals £1.31 per AEL share. | eddie catflap
15/4/2008 11:47 | I still can't make out if this is good news or not for the takeover going ahead, ie at the same or better price. | joan of arc
15/4/2008 10:08 | MM are playing silly beggars this morning. I was trying to shift some stock yesterday but they wouldn't bite. This morning my broker rings me up first thing and said MM have been on the phone and are happy to bid 101p for 25k shares. I told them thanks but no thanks. They subsequently dropped the price to try and tree shake a few sellers. Not worked so far. | nickcduk
15/4/2008 09:43 | Nexus are having 2nd thoughts on the takeover following last week's unexpected drilling news but today's announcement should help. Previous bidder, Arc, are now in takeover talks themselves so there is a lot of action in the sector. Given the recent price falls in Oz, the price here has held up very well. With today's news and subsequent price rise, most of that loss has now been regained. | eddie catflap
11/4/2008 17:06 | Does this mean someone is having 2nd thoughts or that there might be a renegotiation of the takeover terms?? | joan of arc
11/4/2008 15:19 | Anzon Energy adjourns EGM on receipt of further results from Basker well UPDATE (recasts lead) LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Anzon Energy Ltd. said it has decided to adjourn its extraordinary general meeting to a later date, given the expected timing of receipt of further results from drilling operations at the Basker well in the Bass Strait field in Australia. 08/4/2008 19:14 | begin- page 6 in the book received says AEL will go for the all share deal ,so i assume AEL will carry on ,only the shareholding will be in the merged Co. | p@
07/4/2008 16:28 | Anyone still here. I see we can have just shares, cash or split now. I was thinking of going for the shares only. but as Anzon Australia share price is down to 1.25$ would it not be better to go for the cash or dose anyone think the price might rise after the 11th April any opinions would be welcome. 04/4/2008 11:49 | can't remember but I think it was 132p...? whats gone wrong since then? thought the deal was done and dusted...worth getting back in again? | jonno1
04/4/2008 08:36 | at what point did u get out jonn01 ? hope it was 130+ im still here letting it ride | markfrankie
31/3/2008 08:52 | so whats happened here, glad I sold out... | jonno1
12/2/2008 08:40 | Nexus up 10% - reported intersected net 110 metres of gas bearing sand at Crux-4. | ed 123
23/1/2008 13:11 | Joan. That offer I think relates to AZA. The offer to AEL is currently worth about £1.28 at the current Nexus share price. Dont kwow about the second issue but presumably the terms of the offer would be revised. | stephenwilson
23/1/2008 12:53 | I am amazed that no one has posted anything regarding the new takeover or has everybody sold out already? There are few things I don't understand about the offer. Firstly I cannot see how the $1.04 scrip ties up with the share entitlement that this is supposed to translate into. Secondly it is not clear what happens if the share price falls outside the $1.50 - $2.05 (which is currently the case at $1.41). Would it mean the deal is off or that the share calculation will be done as if the price had not moved beyond its upper or lower limit? | joan of arc
08/1/2008 11:37 | any news? up small the last couple of days... | jonno1
06/12/2007 14:16 | Won't be long before they're drilling again and it's summer down there. So they'll crank up the production I reckon. imho dyor | bomfin
06/12/2007 12:58 | back in for a small 5000 | jonno1
06/12/2007 11:28 | Hmmmm. Offer was when Arc share price was A$1.595, equating to an AEL valuation of £1.39/share. Now about A$1.46, so about 10% off, but are Nexus buying because they think it is a cheap way into the combined entity or do they want to make a better offer? | sranmal |
