08/1/2015 10:38 | Perhaps Anite should be making inroads into Security testing in view of the recent serious hacking attacks? Automated Penetration testing springs to mind. That's a task for Xceed. Spirent were recently at a 5 year low. I think people are forgetting that Q1 was boosted by about 16% due to delayed orders in 2013. Also, 2013 was a very poor year for Spirent so it is not a realistic benchmark to use for comparison purposes. There is some statistical significance though & I hope this reflects on market conditions easing for Anite. Apparently Spirent have had extra business from Samsung. They also have clients Huawei & LG. They helped Huawei with speed testing their routers. So the extra Samsung business could be the same or to do with battery testing. | picobird
08/1/2015 08:40 | I see that Spirent today are forecasting a 10% rise in revenue. Lets hope that is not at Anite's expense. I can't ever remember Anite making such a promise. I'm beginning to wonder if management are getting a bit past it and focusing too much on impending retirement. | irenekent
07/1/2015 12:06 | Northland reiterate 120p price target - buy. The Anite toolset looks pristine & complete now. The Travel sale did the trick enabling the purchase of the speciality analytics company in the US. Add to that the Propsim emulator which is the leading emulator in testing networks & satellite communications, plus the SAS testing procedures & we have the best company in it's field of operation. I think the PR job for Anite has been given a huge boost by the Du take up of Anite's offerings in the Middle East. Waiting now for more positive news & hopefully a contract with China Mobile. Changing the subject a little, it was a relief to see Anite unveil their recent VoLte offerings. Getting VoLte right is very important in the Smartphone industry. When you consider that most Asians use their phones as a PC substitute it is of paramount importance to maximise battery life. This is where VoLte testing comes into it's own. Also nice to see that Anite are firmly into Video Conferencing too. For an overview of Anite's business, follow the link....... This is quite a nice read too ............. | picobird
06/1/2015 08:11 | Anite now has a strong presence in the UAE now. 06/01/2015 du and Anite Unveil the Middle East's First State-of-the Art Terminal Innovation Lab in UAE Shows that their customer base is increasing & that their product range is in popular demand. Good start to the year. This is another step to the Smart City vision that Dubai has........ | picobird

19/12/2014 09:09 | Happy Xmas Irene & All Perhaps Santa might arrive for Anite in the form of a massive price rise. The share price has fallen well short of the ftse for for a fair while but that is down to the market that they are in. Some months ago I was getting a little worried about their gap in Volte testing but they now seem to be taking market share from Spirent in this area. In view of the PR Spirent have put out regarding Volte in the last year & the resources that they have invested, that is quite an achievement. Must be something to do with SPT's CEO only having a History degree - LOL. Anite have some interesting partners in Tech nowadays. Blackberry should be reporting today (must have a look). They are making a comeback via their security conscious abilities. Their Playbook kept being plugged with security patches to stop their devices becoming 'Dingleberries'. I admire that trait in their philosophy. Today trading is perhaps a sign to do nowt. Blackberry seem to be in favour with fund managers although there is a big shorting bear on the scene. Anite is trading a large volume which must be down to Aberdeen Asset Management. What a carry on ! More tech acquisitions today with Atos. Think Irene must be on tob something ? Blackberry completes acquisition of Secursmart, what a day ! Blackberry into positive cash flow, who would have thought that a year ago ! So that's why Anite is bullish, Blackberry is recovering. I found a recent article by Investors Chronic this month commenting on Anites customer base. It said that the customer base was shrinking. Not so, quite the reverse - it is getting bigger & significantly so. Reference was made to Nokia having been taken over by MS. Well, I remember distinctly researching Nokia a couple of years ago & could find no mention of Nokia being a customer of Anite. Looked on Anite's website as well & still no luck. IC also mentioned Motorola being taken over by Lenovo. Lenovo has never been in the smart phone business which is why they took over Motorola & are allowing Motorola to run their own business. So only the ownership of the company has changed ! Wish these journalists would get their statements right. Compared to two years ago, Anites customers are increasing but surely anyone with an iota of knowledge would know that ! | picobird
19/12/2014 08:32 | Happy Xmas Pico - lets hope that with the new year the management will be looking for options vesting and wealthy retirement due to a huge increase in Anite's share price triggering multiple attempts to take us over! T/O seems very much in fashion. I've seen Friends Life 7 and Catlin go already this month so we must be in the queue. Many thanks for all your facts and info over the year. Irene | irenekent
18/12/2014 08:49 | 17/12/2014 Tier 1 North American Operator selects Anite’s Nemo handheld and drivetest solutions for LTE and VoLTE testing As far as I'm concerned that's fantastic news ! | picobird
12/12/2014 15:19 | UBS put out an 'add' from 'hold' on SPT yesterday. Quite amazing in view of the Spirent outlook of more of the same (poor demand) for their offerings. Basically the word got around & applying the level two theory ( been reading up on it) the price rose 4p yesterday to fulfil demand. Then today the demand continued with the odd 'newsleak rubbish' being spouted on another forum & further level two buying. Spirent has this Midas touch as a short term trading share despite their tumble a month ago from poor results. Anyway water finds it's own level & the TA is bearish. These brokers must be taken with a pinch of salt ( someone said recently). I think the Times mentioned UBS/SPT today- so fuelling more demand. Meanwhile, Anite follows the FTSE downwards. When I say 'Level Two' I am referring to the MM's order book prices (new knowledge for me). This is only an 'info' post, so it lacks precision in wording. The volumes for AIE are small while for SPT fairly big - 4 mill today. It's a case of 'overdone' for both companies but in opposite directions (if that makes sense). | picobird
12/12/2014 14:40 | SPT up 4% AIE down 4%. Why? Anyone have any ideas? | nomdeplume

05/12/2014 10:55 | And by the way I did get some of these this week and they do look interesting longer term. | gerdmuller
05/12/2014 10:52 | The currency debate is an interesting one and I have found currency short term week to week movements very difficult to get right although I usually get the longer term month to month movement right. I moved to Spain in 2007 and GBP was close to eur 1.50. When the UK started its QE programme GBP plunged to almost parity within about 18 months. The results of QE seem to have helped UK growth so we have seen a steady rise in the past two years or so. So I agree that short term we could see further weakness in EUR but it will depend how markets view the result of QE and if they see eurozone growth as a result then the euro could start to stregthen at some point. But currencies are complicated. | gerdmuller
05/12/2014 10:36 | @pico.Your welcome. Have a look at the yen v the US$ last few weeks since Japanese CB increased their QE programme.Yen crushed (which is part of their plan). As it would be for European CB,assuming that the German CB will ever allow them to go ahead with full QE (buying European gov bonds) which personally I doubt.(we could be here for weeks or even months and years discussing that particular issue). | muscletrade
05/12/2014 10:18 | Thanks muscletrade, will check out the economics of it. Always pleased to add a bit of knowledge :-)) | picobird
05/12/2014 07:43 | @pico, re yr comments on currency. The ECB printing money will result in a weaker Euro not a stronger one, at least in the short medium term. Current euro weakness reflects this. Eu/USD currently 1.238 | muscletrade
05/12/2014 01:30 | This has now got my attention hoping for a pull back to climb on-board. | werty5
04/12/2014 12:36 | 120p Northland target price has been around for yonks. The Euro should strengthen with the ECB about to print money but don't hold your breath. 10 years ago the exchange rate was 1.50, went down to parity some years ago & is now circa 1.27 / 1.28. Wonder if that double bottom will form - looking like it. If we get to 86/87p tomorrow could we be looking at a breakout stage ? Not guaranteed but early next week could be interesting. | picobird
04/12/2014 10:32 | I notice this was posted 13 Nov 2014, at the other place. Date posted 2014-11-13 00:04 Subject Northland Capital - 120p tgt Wireless communications outfit Anite (AIE) has been rated as a "buy" with a target price of 120p by Northland Capital. This comes after the firm published an encouraging trading update for the first half of its financial year, reporting revenue and adjusted operating profit ahead of last year. The broker was pleased that Anite maintained its first quarter momentum, but remains worried about effects of the euro's weakness on the company's Network Testing division. The shares rose by 1.5p to 85.5p. Recent news, but maybe already posted here. f | fillipe
03/12/2014 19:09 | They have produced the goods in H2 in prior years. The figures issued yesterday were very precise & look rather good now with H2 to add. Rather than posting links, here is a joint statement on H2 from the chairman & CEO. Outlook It has become apparent over the last few financial years that trading in the Handset Testing business has become increasingly biased towards the second half. Although both businesses have limited pipeline visibility, the Board expects that the Group’s second half performance will improve on the first half. In addition to this seasonality, there are a number of specific factors that are expected to deliver incremental performance improvements in both businesses in the second half. In Handset Testing these include specific product, technology and customer related revenue catalysts already identified as opportunities in the pipeline of potential new orders. In Network Testing we expect to see growth from recent new product launches, returns from the increased first half R&D investment and the initial benefit from the Xceed acquisition. Given the recent momentum we have seen across the Group and the specific opportunities identified for the second half, the Board remains confident of meeting its full year expectations. The statement as usual is very honest & intended to give a precise indication as to what investors can expect in H2. Sorry I could not post the full figures link. I spent a lifetime preparing those sort of statements. To me they take on an art form :-)) Incidentally, I have yet to find a BOD who are more transparent than Anite. Mind you, the laws have changed over the decades & any misrepresentation would be a court case. | picobird
03/12/2014 18:26 | "limited pipeline visibility" It's called a "get out of jail free" card, and doesn't inspire (me with) confidence. But, it has never been any different here...you pays your money and you takes your choice....or not. Good to see today's rise anyway, good luck to holders | rathlindri
03/12/2014 17:58 | When talking about the outlook they mention that business is weighted towards the second half of the year which they expect to happen again, but then said that they have "limited pipeline visibility". That is an interesting phrase which I find unusual in a tech company where I would expect the company to have a number of prospective clients somewhere along the sales pipeline, where they should have a reasonable chance of knowing how many will come in. So although expressing confidence they have also qualified that confidence which may make potential investors hold back until more definitive information is available. | richjp
03/12/2014 13:15 | To get the long term incentive 2014 (50%) the minimum EPS is .07p. However the CEO has taken out the amortisation etc to make it easier to attain. There was some complaining about that a couple of years ago. They also had to increase the base EPS this year after the brokers complained. Nice to see people taking note today. The divi increase was one of the better points yesterday. | picobird
