ignorant person.
The amount of power that China or USA or UK will never be covered by solar or wind or any other renewable energy form.
They will need coal because is the cheapest form of fuel found in abundance
on earth and easily burn to power the generators.
Also another eco type of generating power is nuclear power which the main fuel is uranium.
APF has a royalty in that too.

A guy I know socially works in energy policy in London and he told me that China is spending more on renewable energy than any country in the world.

Fascinating articles in today's FT about CO2 emissions.

For the first time in 40 years, Carbon dioxide emissions did not increase last year, 2014.

This is according to figures released by the International Energy Agency.

The Ft article (page 7) continues:-

oo

Why did emissions stay flat last year?
The IEA says it was mostly because of shifts in energy use in the world's three biggest carbon dioxide emitters: China, the US and the EU.

China has imposed energy efficiency standards on industry, cut its consumption of coal and increased its use of hydroelectricity, wind power and solar electricity.

Wealthier countries, many of which started promoting low-carbon technologies much earlier, have also installed more renewable power and boosted energy efficiency. Some, such as the US,have also shifted from highly polluting coal gas as a result of the shale revolution.

oo

Against the figures released by the IEA and a clear move by other major countries, including China, to embrace cleaner power and acknowledge the part that dirty power-generation plays in global warming ,the macro outlook for coal demand does not appear to me to be bright.

Commenting on the Acquisition, Julian Treger, Chief Executive Officer of Anglo Pacific, said:

"We are pleased to have completed the acquisition of the Narrabri royalty. The Acquisition will immediately enhance our portfolio of producing royalties and help to diversify our royalty cash flow through the addition of thermal coal exposure, which we believe is beginning to benefit from recent supply cuts in Australia and a recovery in spot pricing.

The Acquisition is also in line with Anglo Pacific's strategy to acquire royalties on mining assets that are competitively positioned on the cost curve, cash or near-term cash producing, located in established mining jurisdictions and operated by experienced mining companies with strong track records. We hope to continue to capitalise on current market conditions and find similar opportunities that can deliver long-term value to our shareholders."

Thank you, gavapentin. Appreciated. -I also respect your opinion a lot.

In answer to your question and (sorry) but to be brutally honest, no.

-I don't know why they doubled up on coal ( although I have some views ).

-I don't think this share currently pays what I call a "real dividend" being one out of profits and income on Royalties but does so in my opinion primarily by proceeds from sales from the asset base. It is after all a Royalties Company.

- Coal is not a good place to be right now in my view. Prices are down. Miners HAVE TO cut costs wherever they can. The macro background for coal remains bleak. Falling demand. Oversupply. Too much competition. New pits. Green issues. Cheap oil. Cheaper gas from fracking. Growth of alternative fuels. Restarting some nuclear power generation.

- They have too many eggs in one basket. Diversifiation was desirable but they have just further concentrated exposure onto coal. This is a highly risky strategy in my view.

- Royalty income has declined significantly in recent years.

- Asset write-downs are evidenced across the mining industries. Are we at an end yet? I doubt it personally.

- Rio Tinto is not bullish on its coal interests AND ARE HEAVILY COST-CUTTING and restructuring which in my opinion does not necessarily bode well for Kestrel South in the current environment.

Good luck to you personally on all your invstments but this share would certainly come nowhere near to satisfying my own personal investment and risk/reward criteria at this time in the commodities cycle.

Observation:

Not only do you own no shares here, you are obsessed with this share to the point of trawling other people posts (who ACTUALLY ARE INVESTED).... !!!

Conclusion:

You are a woefully sad individual with very little else to occupy your time. There may also be some mental health issues associated with this very odd behaviour.

This is what you wrote a year ago. Just consider where the price was then and where it is now. Your posts are quite woeful and pathetic, as well as your grasp of the drivers for this sector and this share.

You have zero credibility as far as calling this share is concerned. Some might say that you don't have a clue, others might say that you shouldn't really be playing around on shares when you have no understanding of the basics.

If you expected the share to rise to 280/300p but in reality it has fallen to 80/90p, you need to consider whether savings accounts wouldn't be far better for you.

Results can't be far away as the reporting season begins.
Hopefully the new man will have something to say to lift the share pricealong with an increased
dividend.
We know that Rio is doing very well as it is associated with Rio in Pilbara,Kestrel mine and other
projects.
I do expect the price to rise to £2.80 and might hit £3 or more as more royalties come in with increased
royalties(Rio had record shippments and production).
So lucky those who bought below £2.

The bad news were already factored in the price when it dropped to 80p and the fall in revenue as the market-commodities dropped.

However now APF has achieved a new milestone. a succesful aquisition by placing
of shares rather than borrowing the money is very good move since the new royalty will pay backdated from January 2015.
That means the company is expecting a payment which will boost profits in 2015
interim results.
Also the announcenment from the company about the 2nd half of 2015 with the Kestrel royalties rising higher to 2017 is significant.

Therefore nothing academic to see where APF price is moving from now on.
I do expect the price to be above 150p by August 2015!

To be fair QP does post a lot of sense.
He has been right more often than not. Unfortunately for my investment!

The question now surely is...are we near/at the bottom?
If the results are ok (not staggering clearly!) then I think we might be with Kestrel about to pick up again.

QP - would you agree it might be that time to buy????

academic interest in a share??????????

what is that?
Do you need a Ph D to read fundementals, company news, market news/views/broker advise?

Off courser you are a shorter? CFD or spreadbet?

Watch it when the price moves by 20p-25p you don't get caught with your pants down!

I too follow this share although I sold mine over 2 years ago for 220p. If you invest in commodity stocks this is a good stock to take an interest in, as it provides a good insight into the general state of the market.

Focusing only on the shares that you actually own is very short sighted.

Your unnecessary comments such as these reinforce my interest in this share.

Quite tardy results in my opinion.

I shall be very interested to look at asset valuations in a year when certain mining companies have written down assets.

Still haven't received any response to my question in 7059.
