Catsick,

I don't think the pit will run out of copper ore for a long while, 10+ years on current Cu reserves alone. I expect the plan is to get copper production up to about 7000t/year through floatation expansion.

The story for gold is the potential upside, Gadir could be 1M oz plus and what else could they find in the 7km between Gedebek and the new Bittibulag deposit, noting that they are along strike from each other.

Lets hope they can find a load of gold before the pit runs out of mineable ore

Shorts closing before the FOMC, I expect we'll see a big spike down just before the announcement and then assuming they hold a spike up to the 1340's.

Being quoted the offer now for 50k of stock, looks like someone has took some as it wasn't that earlier today, probably delayed trades to go through.

Well I think we need to wait for some drilling results, hopefully we'll get some indication of potential before the end of the year.

Ha ha yes zh. Please don't think that my post was saying we'll prove up 7m ounces anytime soon, or even ever.

Azz bod haven't invested in all that plant for the resource to be limited. The bod know the resource is a hell of a lot larger but thought lets make money from processing the ore from what we know and have now.
I'd rather this way than a firm who just keeps drilling which for me is just talking where as aaz are walking the walk.
AAZ are one step off being a much larger gold mining company, others who just drill will have years of building a mine never mind funding it.
Cheap isn't even in it, aaz is so cheap it's actually putting investors off who'll think its too good to be true, sometimes these gift horses turn out to be gift horses.

Yes I would saybthat 7m oz proved up 8n the next year would be somewhat advantageous! Maybe a tad optimistic perhaps JB?

Cgh have an inept CEO who's grossly overpaid whereas AAZ have top class management. Cgh should be multiples of its current share price if it could execute a strategy but the board seem unable to do this. Yes, I'm a locked in investor! Hopefully something will transpire before I and others die! (Say 30 years....).
Back to Aaz...

All from memory so not sure of this...
Surely not having an enormous resource/reserve at the moment works in our favour?
As in we depreciate the plant quickly (as its depreciated in a ratio to per oz of reserve mined?) to help losses whilst paying off the debt from the plant.
Of course this isn't permanent and if there really was only 700k oz it wouldn't be good but as of the end of next year it'll be in our advantage to have 7m oz as well. I think that might take quite a while though.
Sorry for poorly worded ramble :D

Yes the reality is they spent 10 years drilling and burning 100m usd while aaz got to work, the open pit part of heap leach ore is about 800k oz gold of usable ore, sounds very similar, then they have messy ores to work with underground mining , if aaz drill up a the area and looks like that is the plan then they will be sure to substantially increase reserves ..

So do aaz, just need to prove it up as you process the ore. I don't doubt reserves will be a hell of a lot more

Interesting to look at the recent announcement by chaarat, they are on the same long belt of gold/copper that goes through Azerbaijan , have pretty much the same market cap as aaz and similar mix of ore types , however they are years from even building a working mine, they hope to find financing to start a heap leach to produce 70k oz a year and then work on production from the more complex ores, they are about where aaz were in 2006 but without the cash even to start a heap leach, .... Market cap pretty much the same, Ore grades also similar ....

I would not go that far, it may be a part of it but I think the negative sentiment arround the gold price is the main driver. If you look at past AAZ action 25% is a pretty mild correction and I find it encouraging that the story has structural basis.

Chovdar is an interesting one as the government clearly want to get the operation running and AAZ are uniquely placed to help with this, but the company have said nothing on this at all, oh well time will tell.

My 20p was based on only 50K oz gold and 2000T copper at $1150 gold. The point is that's a base case above the current share price
