only 35k stock available at the extremes of the spread. Zero volume so, I am guessing the MM's unsure which way to take the price this close to the AGM

Honestly, the market and its droves of observers and commentators seems to hang on these announcements as if they are words from the Gods. It's just plain simple common-sense, cloaked in gibberish wordy statements. The simple fact is that the USA & global economy, despite the massive stimulus, is still struggling to gain the necessary thrust to breakaway from the black-hole of the last financial crisis. It is the huge & growing global debt load that is proving to the gravitational pull back to the black hole & it despite All words of encouragement from the bridge, Scotty (in the engine room) just does not have the necessary warp speed to bring about the desired result. Now the warp engines are depleted and need recharging ... but, that's a very slow and risky process. A fascinating summer beckons

Supposedly only one more raise this year. I don't buy it personally & cant see it before December, if at all. This one was a Cert and now Gold has at least 5 months to breathe in my opinion.I'll be quite happy to see it maintain at least a weekly closing floor of $1,250 for next week or two before the main downtrend breach emerges .. this week looks to me like the small back test only.A good AGM JORC statement combined with a $1,300 breach for Gold ... that would be pretty much perfect result for AAZ in the near-term.Clocks ticking Zhockey :-)

they are desperate to try and create some room below for the next set of actions to recover from the next recession.
Historically they have done all they can to keep a lid on Gold but, with the Far East now a much bigger buyer of the physical that is getting harder and harder.
In any event, Bitcoin and other crypto-currencies now offer an alternative for investors and that looks like it will be much harder for the Central Banks to control so, the game may well soon be up

Yes, the mood music has been that they will raise anyway. I think that'll be a mistake but they seem determined to keep raising and push anaemic growth figures into reverse.

The FED has waited so long now that it looks at risk of trying to raise rates just as the next recession is starting. Not good at all!
Gold well bid today

going to be an interesting FED statement this evening ... they may be trying to persuade everyone that things are just fine & dandy but, that is not the case.

Some pretty awful figures out in America today.

The Auto Debt figures look absolutely appalling. Negative equity for vehicle trade-in Q1 2017 hit an all time high of $5,195 per trade.
Average new-vehicle loan term in Q1 2017 is now 69 months!!
Folk are drowning in debt & looks like they are roling the negative equity into new cars and taking on new debt at ever greater length of loans.
Meanwhile the car factories keep pumping out new cars and the dealers are signing ever more dodgy finance deals to try and keep sales ticking along.
This is clearly not sustainable.
GM is going to idle factories this summer and I saw that Ford recently observed they belied they were now past peak sales in this cycle.

A bit of evidence of that here ... Have just ordered new Ford Transit for the company. Med Roof, Med Wheelbase, Cruise, DAB, Fog lights, Auto Gearbox, 130Ps.
(I always order with extras to make sure it is a delivery straight from the factory and not a holding field somewhere in the UK) .... got 32% Discount of list !!
Last time I could get those sort of discount levels was 2009

12 trading sessions until the AGM.

I'm sure Reza & co are beavering away to have something more tangible with regards the exploration updates to discuss at that time. Too good an opportunity not to release something to the markets and then be here in London to meet investors and would-be investors to discuss.

I'd say thats pretty accurate MrSporrans.
Yes the resource and reserve will be the next big news. It'll be interesting to see how much they manage to declare, it's been quite a while since the last one so a fair chunk has been taken out of the ground from the old declaration.
As catsick has said anything around the 250-300k mark for Ugur will do nicely for now.
Longer term it'll be interesting to hear the plans for the extra $2.5m/qtr we free up after the last payment for the ATB loan. Thats only 14 months away now.

AAZ price has been relatively stable since the Strategy Update of 8 May.
Guess everyone is awaiting resource updates.

Not bothered that gold rose from ~$1220/oz to $1290+ max. over the duration and AAZ price ~flat.
For one thing, the $30/oz drop since the peak 5 days ago was actually accompanied by a small rise in the sp; i.e. AAZ insensitive to short term POG movements.
For another, it simply means the gold produced has been for a higher profit than otherwise.
As that production [and for copper/silver] is in great main from stockpiles, should be reasonably in line with AAZ target.

Production and POG are very much back seat now and resource update [Incld. Ugur and exploration news] the driver here.
Apologies for pointing out the obvious.

Apologies for going off topic but bitcoin was discussed here a few days ago. Just wondering what experience/recommendations anyone has. I'm not looking to invest big money just drip loose change in much the same way as I use P2P lending, so web/cloud or app based wallet would probably suit. Any info much appreciated.

Eh zh?
I was hardly criticising jeanesy for having been right about selling. It would be foolhardy to argue that when the data clearly shows he sold at a price higher than the share price is now. Therefore that was a good decision.

No, I was making a very different point. I'm sorry if you didn't get that. Perhaps you should re-read my posts. They are an entertaining treat in a righteous ranty kinda way :D

JBravo,

You have some cheek to criticise Jeanesy. No one has been more wrong than you over the last year. You were the biggest bull, based I assume on the assumption that AAZ would get some Aimroc assets but they ended up with absolutely nothing.

If folks followed Jeanesy they would have made money.

Matt,

How can you believe that drawing a few lines on a chart will proffer the share price to 127p?

If the share price is to get to that level AAZ will need a big discovery and the charts can offer you no solace in that regard.

Come on jbravo. If he's made a few bob then good for him & well done. Most lose money. The market is made up of all sorts of folk .. that's what gives us the opportunities. We're it not for Bashirov, would we have had so long to buy these under 5p?This company is stupidly undervalued and that dynamic will attract new investors here ..... I would prefer if the thread continued to be sensibly populated and try to keep the emotion & personal jibes out of it.There'll be plenty of time for all that when the herd arrive here .. once we breach 35p and then again when we breach 80p.Who is going to make a real effort now this year & get to the AGM? It's the least long-term investors should do. It's our company & the directors work for us all year round. The least folk should do is make the AGM and express their views and hear the director replies

For what it's worth I do think a lot of your posts come from a genuine lack of comprehension, but far too many now are from the point of view that of course you're desperate for a much lower share price and the posts that try to do it are repetitive without any real discussion.

Frankly I don't think the thread needs that. Let me counter the "you don't want to hear negative views" baloney before it starts.
I've been here through 4p and heard, and indeed posted, plenty of negative myself so it's not really that is it? It's just well, how can i put this... your negative is just quite whiney and boring.

Lets look at your latest.
Drilling news? Why are you expecting drilling news? We're due to be getting a resource and reserve in Q3. Why would they release some drill hole news before that? To what end? (Barring a bonanaza drill hole which I think we can all agree isn't going to happen)

Production news. Why so excited over one months data in the new configuration? So you can point out how low the dore is like last month? As was pointed out then, thats dore produced after flotation. We have no comparison if its good or not. Now the total for the month may be disappointing or may not but of course we won't know til q2 results for the totals with flotation.

Lets look at another of your favourites. Gold price.
"ooooo its down look out AAZ"
"oooo its down from its recent peak look out AAZ"
"oooo its going up but it might not stay up, look out AAZ"
So what? So long as the average for the year is above 1200 it'll be more than lovely. Thanks for your concern and comment but I do have access to the price myself through this internet thing.

So has that covered it all?
How about you do us all a favour and show yourself to be the bigger man? Come on. You've cashed in your handsome profit from your shares. Remember you were in at 4p as you told us. :D
No doubt you're posting from your yacht in the med. Go make another fortune somewhere else. I'll even thank your post so you can leave on a high :D

ok jbravo ... fair points to make.

jeanesy .... I have never quite worked out if you are simply of a nervous disposition & therefore seek comfort & explanation from other posters on the thread or, if like a couple of others, you endeavour to talk the price up/down according to how you are trying to trade the stock at any one time.

A small rise on a Friday afternoon off the back of a tiny amount of stock being traded is not likely to herald some news on Monday. Rather, there was plenty of stock available from a seller for the early part of the week but, once it was exhausted the price rose on slim buying.

Try looking at the chart on a weekly basis since Jan 16. There is an underlying uptrend that we settled on this week & likely others in the market have noticed it too.

A feeling in his water?
Ermm , nothing?
The chance to say "oh, no news, this must be headed to 8p" on Monday?
Honestly, what value has he ever brought here?

I'm not sure what he's adding apart from incessant "POG down, lookout" etc etc

He clearly wants back in with his (ahem) fortune at a lower price, say about 5p.
I'm not sure we need him on the thread. Please consider banning him matt. He was annoying when he was holding, now he's a kind of annoying without any value.

Thanks.
:)
