Crazy, it is not surprising at all, I said before that the market is nervous about 2017 production. I expect it will be less than 2016.

A bit bizarre the share price movement today. PoG up and looking to continue its strength and people selling out of AAZ on no news (when most aspects of the TU are known anyway, except 2017 guidance, although not sure if that will be part of the TU). I understood that maybe some people were sitting on the sidelines to take advantage if the share price fell post TU but selling on no TU seems a somewhat counter-intuitive to me.

Don't forget that the reason the mine was there in the first place was because Siemens had it as a copper mine for the first global telecoms network. They weren't primarily after gold, they just took it as an undeclared by product. Other reserves as recently found were probably known about but 150 years ago in Az gold wasn't what Siemens were after. So it may not be as copper rich. Time will tell

As I understand it, it is the Gedabek open pit that is projected to go to a 50:50 Gold/Copper production profile.

However, that does not take into account the future contribution from Ugur, Ordubad, Bittibulag, Gadir or any other part of their assets.

Given the ore complexity & the growing Copper & Silver production, the company may elect to report its production in Gold equivalents ie. The equivalent number of ounces of gold produced after taking into account the revs from the Copper & Silver.
It all about perception. If the company wanted to known as a Copper miner, it simply report its headline revenues as equivalent tonnes of Cu produced, after taking into account Gold & Silver.

Not sure we should get too hung up on it at this stage. Just look at the headline figures & accept it is made up of 3 (possibly more in future) metals.

This looks like it's probably not going to be the "gold mine" we expected.

I have listened. Listen again. Bill does say that, But the words before are based on what we know now. I asked Stephen about it at the presentation, he said some of the gold doesn't contain copper so doesn't see it being 50/50.

Pan, like it. Think gold might have a few good days this week, with the pantomime in the USA playing out this week.

Deanrobert, that is not what the interview says. It says based on what they know now, ie ignoring all future exploration. Some of the new gold deposits don't contain copper so won't pan out like that.

@Jeanesy et al

you need to watch the youtube interview with the CEO and Director of Geology I posted te other day....that would answer a large portion of these repetitive quesions..

they clearly state that they expect Gold production to decline yr on yr....that is what the Geology is telling them, however, they expect this o be offset by increasing production of Copper, with expectations of going from a 95/5 Gold/Copper producer now, to a 50/50 ratio in the nxt 2-3 yrs.....

Deal with facts not hope

I think we see 16k of q4 production and 500 ton of copper, we should see net debt down to 35m usdHopefully a few snippets on exploration and some idea of capex planned, grades do seem to be falling and we have been using some ore stockpiles and tailings which while cost effective is not sustainable without new fresh higher grades found and exploited, The ccy depreciation should mean the margin they are operating on is running at very high levels irrespective of the price of gold.

Differing views, negative, positive etc etc is healthy and every board is all the better for it. However dishing out personal attacks, and constantly gloating while fellow investors were losing vast amounts of money is not on. This pathetic individual has a very dark side, and fed off others misery. I will say no more as I respect you and the fantastic bb you have created here. Hoping for a good week here. Exploration news update wouldn't go amiss either. GLA.
