LONDON--Anglo American PLC (AAL.LN) said Thursday it has sold 35 million shares in Exxaro Resources Ltd. (EXX.JO) at 87 South African rand each, raising ZAR3.0 billion ($215 million), as part of its continuing efforts to reduce debt.
The South African miner said Wednesday it was selling the shares, which represents 9.7% of Exxaro's issued share capital, via bookbuild process.
Following the sale, Anglo American no longer holds a direct equity interest in Exxaro.
