The obvious way to ascertain the current holder of Premier House is via the Land Registry website - google "land registry search". In the Find A Property search engine input "WV1 4JJ" (postcode for Premier House" in the postcode field. This then brings up results which appear to show that the property is also subject to a lease. You can then search on either the freehold or leasehold tenures + subsequently buy online a copy of the title register for £3 each which will detail the parties interested in either the freehold or the leasehold.

Apologies if I am teaching you to suck eggs!

Thanks, just that I didn't know it existed. If they had sold Premier House would they have to notify the market? To be honest, I have learnt a lot about the group as a whole and how they operate but I don't know too much about their properties. They sold the Charlton base for a lot of dough a while back, I wonder how many of their other depots are owned, and whether Premier House was owned by them? Any info appreciated. If Premier House was sold is there any way we can find out?

keith - Andrews Sykes Properties Ltd is a subsidiary of Andrews Sykes Group plc. This is nothing unusual. Many companies will have a subsidiary company that owns the freeholds of properties from which they trade. This is just one of many subsiidiaries in the Andrews Sykes Group e.g. Andrews Sykes Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Ltd, Andrews Sykes Hire Ltd, Andrews Sykes Investments Ltd plus a whole host of others.

The SIC07 Description of Andrews Sykes Properties Ltd is OTHER LETTING AND OPERATING OF OWN OR LEASED REAL ESTATE. Its principal activity is stated as "Acts as the United kingdom property holding company for Andrews Sykes Group Plc."

The sole shareholder of Andrews Sykes Properties Ltd is Andrews Sykes Group plc which holds 2 shares.

Shame. If they owned Premier House and are leasing now there could be a nice one off profit in the interims. Did you know there was a company called Andrews Sykes Properties Limited based at Premier House with just 3 of the directors running it? Been going since 1995.

They've changed head offices, does anyone know if they owned Premier House? I could probably find out but just being lazy, wondered if they were selling the old and renting the new?

I bought a few of these recently. My trade didn't seem to show up in the list of trades on the LSE website later on (after the 20 minute delay or even hours later after the close). Does this mean something? Was the trade done in a "dark pool" by my broker? I just have a regular internet trading account press a button get a quote buy or sell. I am used to seeing my trades show up. I'm just a Joe Bloggs investor I know nothing.

Japan's meteorological agencies are warning the the El Nino of 2015 is growing stronger and its effects could last longer into the winter. The same agencies are forecasting that the El Nino this year could produce higher temperatures than ' 97-98, the strongest on record.

Whilst mainly impacting on Asia, Australia and USA, it is clear that El Nino affects global weather patterns.

The horrific unprecedented Texas floods which we all recently on TV were partly attributed to El Nino.

Let's see what happens.

Not sure what all that is about but back to the original discussion, have spoken to several directors and the son of the boss, but not the boss himself. I know they (the co) were a bit fed up with the stock market when their share price was languishing between 50 and 100p not so long ago but I don't see any reason why they/he would want to de-list now. That article never mentioned him (the boss) at all and didn't mention that he owned another sizeable company quoted on the market. Throughout the 20 years that I have held shares in this company, they have always treated the shareholders very well indeed and have done everything by the book. I am happy with them and have a big house because of them!

no. this is not a share for short-term gains.

Maybe the term, "to keep things on the up-and-up" is slightly out of use nowadays. It means to keep things on

"an honest or respectable course "

which is how I used it, not as something which was moving up rapidly.

ALL IMO. DYOR.

I would probably disagree, they don't necessarily 'keep things on the up-and-up', they focus on the long term interests of the business which is great for long term value but may not be ideal if you are looking for a short term gain.

Do you know the boss?

Have you met him? If so, can you please give us your views on him.

In terms of lack of research, I have the impression that this company does not court attention from either the press or the broker communities. - Nothing wrong with that providing you are ( like me) happy to do your own research.

My view is that there are a small handful of AIM companies which are to all intents and purposes pretty much family controlled like Andrews Sykes. They have learnt perhaps that it is better to keep their general shareholder base happy and content and to have a reliable dividend policy in place. Also to give good guidance and no major surprises - as this tends to be very good and stabilising for the share price, being compared to many AIM companies where volatility can be very high.

Given the market cap of ASY and the size of the family shareholding, it seems to me that they ASY clan have a lot of skin in the game - which is good to see- and a big incentive to keep things on the up-and-up.

ALL IMO> DYOR.

Re the Aim shares to keep forever, it annoys me when people comment on this co and insist on calling it Andrew Sykes, leaving out the 's'. Always a turn off for me. Also, there has been lack of research into the share, as EOI Sarl etc, equates to the boss owning the shares and if they knew anything about the boss they wouldn't think he'd want to delist 'at the drop of a hat' and he certainly wouldn't want to screw the shareholders as he is the biggest one. However, they are right that ASY is a share to hold on to! I'll give them their due there.

It's rumoured that June is going to become pretty warm and nice! From about mid-week next week onwards. Nudge, nudge - wink, wink. Could be advantageous for companies selling aircon, more nudges and winks.

How are you doing Keith ? Still in ASY then after many years ? How does 11.9p divi equate to a 7% yield ?
Your colleague and neighbour RD is retiring now. I think he made a killing on Apple.
