Strong figures for 2013. Well done, ASY!

I like the Outlook for 2014.

Clearly the floods/ extreme weather at the beginning of this year will have a favourable impact on current trading.

Some extracts from the Chairman's Outlook statement:-

" CAUTIOUSLY OPTIMISTIC FOR FURTHER SUCCESS IN 2104 "

"BUSINESS REMAINS STRONG, CASH GENERATIVE AND WELL DEVELOPED, WITH POSITIVE NET FUNDS"

"IMPROVEMENTS HAVE BEEN SEEN IN THE UK, ESPECIALLY IN THE PUMPING BUSINESS"

Very attractive proposed final dividend of 11.9p.

Looking very good.

ALL IMO. DYOR.

Yes, a good result considering they were up against the Olympic year. The hot weather of July obviously helped, but it only lasted 3 weeks really and apart from that there was very little weather help during the year. The rains were starting Nov/Dec 13, but the real impact came Jan/Feb 14. A total of 29.7p div for the year and net funds still going up nicely. That would suggest more divs to come this year too. Europe is obviously a bit of a problem but I dont see why Holland should be so much worse than Belgium. Anyway, all looking good but some hot weather during the summer would obviously be handy. I will be buying some more on any weakness.

Seems like business is performing well judging by the Blogs on the ASY website.

The opening of their Heathrow depot was already mentioned and this is an extract from the article giving the rationale for the new depot:-

New Heathrow depot now open for business

Published 21/03/2014

Following 25 years of success at our Slough depot, Andrews Sykes have now officially relocated to nearby Heathrow – ten miles away. Our new premises are three times the size of the previous building, amounting to 50,000 square feet in total. The move was necessary in order to satisfy increasing business, with facilities including a training centre, meeting room and plush, modern offices. It is now fully stocked and has been fully operational since Monday 24th February.

ALL IMO. DYOR.

I've never quiet understood that although a lot of modern buildings have sealed windows that can't be opened.
Some bright spark did not think that one through...

The latest blog about a hot hospital nis good for ASY of course, but not good for us tax payers! I could think of a couple of solutions. How about turn the heating down or open the windows? No doubt there is 67 reasons why they can't be done, mainly to do with HS and EU, but it is very annoying!

Well, there was some good sighters of the advertising but Charlton didn't really go for it and paid the penalty. So has Powell, by the sounds of it.

Sykes must be close to entering their "closed" period some 6 weeks ahead of declaring their Results ...not too sure on the timing .
Whether that may be a factor ...who knows ?
