Charts showing very unsettled weather for the next 2 weeks at least with a lot of rain. Also getting colder, so some snow around. All in all, good for asy but not good for people generally.

Anyone recognise which football club it is on the latest blog? Loads more rain and wind to come in the next week or 2.

The charts for the next few weeks are very unsettled with lots more rain. Flooding will become a big issue again, not just the Somerset Levels. Yes, the pumping side and the dehumidifiers/dryers will do well. It's been mild so the heating wont have performed brilliantly but this rain will help alleviate that. They seem to be finding interesting ways to earn money according to the blog.

The Met Office still aren't keen on a prolonged cold spell though. They go for colder weather for a time next week but bring milder westerlies back in by the weekend.

Latest charts are suggesting the cold air may stick for a while next week. Gonna be an interesting week of weather, what with floods, gales and then frost and snow.

Looks like the mild air won that battle, as eexpected. There'll be another skirmish next week which is 50/50, so we shall see. However, the flooding issue is going to come back big time over the next 3 or 4 days.

No wonder our energy is so costly! Look, there are definitely signs of colder weather coming along in the next week or 2 with this weekend possibly being a crucial battleground between cold and less cold. However, as yet no real signs of the sort of temperatures you are quoting. If the cold air wins and really becomes established, then it's a possibility, but it would be a really impressive forecast to go for that now. Maybe it had a probability attached to it, say 20% or the like? I'll keep you updated.

Keith , was chatting to a chap in the queue for a carwash. He apparently works for the Grid that supplies Gas to UK Homes.
He was saying that they are working with Water Utilies to prepare for a cold spell starting at the end of Jan and possibly lasting until March.
He was talking temps of -10 to -18 !

The Water Companies have put any digging up of Mains and the like on hold in preparation.
He gets is weather forecast from the Met Office and praised them for their accuracy over the years.

Just a bit of hearsay ....

Sorry for delay, been taking swimming and boating lessons. It will get colder yes, but it doesn't look like a serious cold spell, it'll just be colder than it has been which is not very difficult.

New depot near Heathrow. Looks good. Possibly another one off profit if they sell the Slough land and lease the Heathrow depot?
