19/3/2015 08:45 | Andes Energia's (LON:AEN) interests in Argentina's Vaca Muerta shale play has seen further interest from investors as Wintershall has now kicked off its eagerly anticipated drill programme. Wintershall, Germany's largest petroleum group, is now drilling the first of six exploration wells within its Aguada Federal block, in the Neuquen province. The programme represents more than US$100mln of investment by the German group and the first exploration well aims to provide insight into the reservoir characteristics in this part of the basin. Wintershall's exploration programme is expected to add further momentum to the emerging Vaca Muerta shale play. It comes after Chevron and Argentina's YPF have seen success in an extensive programme in the Vaca Muerta. More than US$2bn has been invested in their project which is the first large scale development in the play. Total and Exxon are among the other oil and gas blue-chips with interests in the Vaca Muerta. (From Proactive Investors dated March 18th) | shuell

27/1/2015 11:08 | Andes Energia (LON:AEN), the Argentina focused shale player, had a good week given the rather depressed price for a barrel of crude. But it’s not for its prowess as an oil producer it is being lauded by investors and analysts – rather as an investor. For its 51% stake in Oslo Bourse-listed Interoil Exploration & Production has more than trebled in value in the last three days to £11mln. While IOX is listed in Norway, its interests are in Colombia where it is producing 1,571 barrels oil equivalent per day, and has some 5.7mln barrels of proved and probable reserves. “We are acquiring current production, which provides robust cash flow and additional self-funded exploration and development potential," said chief executive Alejandro Jotayan on Tuesday. Andes now has interests in nine producing oil fields in two countries (Argentina and Colombia). | shuell

12/11/2014 12:09 | I've asked questions re Andina a few times here, never had a sensible response. Like you the shares sit untradeable in my account. Would be nice to see them trade again | stuart14
12/11/2014 12:02 | Andina - AEN split a few years ago and existing shareholders were granted shares in the utility company Andina. This company still remains unlisted although trading appears possible on the newly formed 'Asset Match' platform if anyone is interested. Ideally an Aim listing would be the best option although and if anyone has any information on a future listing this would be appreciated as would experience of using Asset Match. | oilplays
