Boy this is one unloved share guess its going to be a waiting game now until we start to get some exploration news which Andes don't have to fund a penny of, if they had to fund it i could understand some concern about a big fund raising holding the price back but thats not the case.

The general meeting regarding the issuing of new shares was a bit of a red herring by all accounts as it was used to buy out partner not for exploration or general working cap requirements as EDEMSA generates cash for that.

I agree entirely also, its not a negative but does anyone else fully understand the EDEMSA bonds, if so, could someone kindly explain?

stluke I agree with you 100% and add to all that the recent Saudi stake purchase and you have a compelling story. Guess we just have to wait this one out for the market to take note. As I am sure it will.

A very solid set of figures from EDEMSA today, i just don't know many companies out there with a market cap that produce profits like that, plus you have a hydro electric profit, oil & gas production and massive oil & gas exploration potential with signed farm in agreements in place.

I simply can not believe people are not filling their boots at this level and instead banking a couple of hundred quid from the last two days!

Yesterday they beat broker forecasts on finals so im fully expecting old park lane to raise their price target shortly, now you have the news they are in bed with the largest oil and gas company in Argentina and tomorrow 1st qtr results from EDEMSA to look forward to, perhaps when i come back later some sanity would have returned!!

Im sure someone better than myself can explain it pcolman1 but as a accountant myself i can assure you its not a accounting trick!!

That paragraph should be split into the two sentences as they relate to two different things, the first is to do with the debt reorganisation basically simplifing it as previously it was fairly complicated.

The second sentence is regarding the tariffs they can charge their customers which is set by government, at present it is allowing them to generate good margins as evidenced by the EDEMSA results but they would like to see a formula that moves the tariffs in line with future costs to the company.

The good thing about the oil and gas exploration and actual production lets not forget is they are going back down the supply chain so in effect trying to migrate some of that issue themselves.

Stluke,

Just picked up on this one today and looking through the finals from yesterday. Wasnt sure what the below comment was getting at from the outlook section

'We are very pleased with the results for the year. The repurchase of the debt has significantly changed the financial profile of EDEMSA, improving and reducing credit risk exposure and decreasing exposure to foreign exchange risk. However, it is important that the implementation of a tariff polynomial formula, that recognises costs in real terms, is approved by the authorities to maintain EDEMSA's economic and financial sustainability.'

The last sentence worries me in that they have used an accounting trick to fudge numbers and that if this formula is not approved that they will no longer be solvent. whats your view?

Well the good news continues might get a hat trick tomorrow morning, glad i picked up a further 25k yesterday now.

This has to be one the the most undervalued companies on aim, looking forward to upgardes from brokers based on this weeks news which is not finished yet!

Yeap need a broker to say the same and raise the price target, just picked up a further 10k, you can buy for 24.25p fill your boots if you ask me, if EDEMSA 1st qtr's are good and confirm operations are still highly profitable this could really start to motor imo.

Good question Stuart14, still have my holding here and waiting patiently for the market to catch up with what is a cracking company, lots to look forward to with O&G development and farm in's with majors, may even get EDEMSA 1st qtr results this week which will give us a good indication of how they have started the new year!

Excellent results and I especially like this bit:-

Commenting on the results, Luis Alvarez Poli stated:

"We are very pleased with the results for the year and believe we are now in a strong position to accelerate the growth strategy of our oil and gas assets over the coming months, we look forward to updating the market throughout the year ahead."

Good luck everyone.

I think the Petro Saudi stake building is very positive. Totally amazed there is so little interest with U.K PI's here. Very strange.

Anyone have any ideas why we are seeing such weakness in the price at the moment? My take on the Saudi stake was positive, looks like I got that one wrong.
Good luck all.
