I did hear a rumour the share price was been manipulated to allow big players to buy ,,the last few months has been an exercise in getting the small guy out and delivering the shares to the big boys ,,,,and they've done a fine job ,,,the supply must of dried up ,,,so up from here ??

Well played that man from mercantile. Explains the 10% increase anyway. What happens after the new financial year and the Ecuadorian election? Can I unlock the piggy bank in time?

31/10/2016, they held 4.25% ie 51,343,452 shares.

They obviously have been increasing SIGNIFICANTLY meanwhile (10 million shares) and this is crossing (going upwards) the 5% notification thresh hold, as required by regulations.

It should put to rest the placing rumor: if they had a sniff of any such intention, they would not be collecting in the market place.

So much for all the nonsense about disaffected iis, being peddled here: clearly some iis are keen and see this as good value (and probably have better information than us).

RNS holding nearly 62 million shares. Were they holders before, Rivers and Mercantile?

True, I also look forward to the holding notice that shows the seller as I don't think its been PI's.

Amerisur will know, or can know if they wanted to, but I suspect the seller has been responsible for the drip drip drip over quite a while. Its unusual as I would have thought a matched deal would have been arranged to stop it being a false market.

Anyone else hoping that notification was a reduce rather than a 5% crossed... could have signalled that the selling was over.

Still, that's a couple of million shares slurped up.

I won't be attending the AGM, but in my view the fix is relatively simple

1) Record the investor presentation and make the entire thing available online as a lot of companies already do.

2) Have someone manning the contact email address, even a PR person would be better than the radio silence we have now.

The problem is that small things can be blown up out of all proportion when they could so easily be resolved with a one line email.

Example: Contract 5K bopd, pipeline operational and the ramp up promises aren't delivered, while at the same time we are informed there is a bottleneck. There could be a perfectly reasonable explanation, but because PI's are ignored we instead are forced to use our imaginations. We have great imaginations ;-)

I can't believe that Malcy and the others who attended the presentation in Colombia didn't come away with the bottleneck fully quantified or at least with questions about it addressed. Malcy has virtually admitted as much in his recent post.

toptrump1,

Welcome back, you've been on my filter list for ages.

I assume your talking about the word "idiot"?

I don't consider that foul mouthed and I wouldn't censor someone purely for that even if I did. There is another four letter word written in full that would, by most peoples standards be considered "foul".

My use of the word idiot wasn't aimed at anyone or even any group of people, unless they self-define as an idiot. I'm assuming Big7time does not self-define as an idiot and therefore would be immune from the comment.

Read the explanation in the post above. One more thing, I'm not god, I can only recommend that people filter or do not respond to posts/posters. It's up to them at the end of the day. By the time I put anyone in the header, most posters on here of any worth will have already used the filter button.

edit - he edited his post :-)

Francis,

Great, if you or Big7ime have made more money than me I am happy for you and I hope to read your insightful posts on how your implementing that strategy with regards to Amerisur in the near future.

TA, Fundamentals, story, something else? A combination maybe?

I'm not sure who I'm impersonating though?

I've been investing for about 10 year, making money for about 5 years (edit started making money in 2011). I post every new position and exit over one the value thread with my reasons for each trade. I post within minutes of the trade, so no picking my position. I also dissect my biggest losses (RIO, Tesco) to work out where I went wrong. Not sure how I could be more transparent.

"If poor sentiment has driven this lower due to the nonsense on this thread then why don't you just sell up and move on"

Is a perfectly legimate version of you post Big7time. Just keep it clean. Removed you from the list, because I'd rather it wasn't there.

AI101 I'm on your side so I guess you didn't understand. There are many supposed holders obviously underwater here consistently rubbishing management which is absurd. They are negative to the point I would imagine they have severe depression caused by bad investment decisions. If they had not poopooed me a couple of yrs back as price of oil started falling instead of thinking Amer were immune from the fall in oil price they would have saved themselves a lot of money. Now they are at their most negative after the event and have it all wrong again no doubt because they have got out at the worse time. Time to buy now and reap the rewards of others misjudgement.
I've removed the S word (I've seen much worse but get your point) but I'll leave the I word (which isn't even directed at a named individual)

Well said charlie, emotion is too prominent amongst us pi's. I got stopped out at 27 but bought back last week, last RNS's persuaded me in spite of GC.

The institutions are already on the share register with names such as Fidelity, Legal and General, Axa and Investec: nearly 60% in major shareholders' hands.

No doubt, they (RH in particular) would have been responsible for the reduction in the proposed option package a while back and GC's recent relinquishment.

Curbing excessive reward is a proportionate action, but this PI campaign on the basis of "utter disdain" is emotional and would be the last thing to sway institutional investment.

This is poorly timed and disruptive, at a time when the company is on the cusp of one of those "step changes" where GC's skill set, experience of selling major businesses, could not be more appropriate.

Whilst I am sure many shareholders will agree with those sentiments, we must also remember that until the institutions arrive, and put their money in, they have no voice, and no say in the matter.

Maybe they should buy a decent stake, put their money where their mouth is, and THEN they would have more credibility in their demands.

Oh grow up the lot of you....yes the share price could be better but that is hardly controlled by management.,,,,,macroeconomics prevail...I do feel that we have turned the corner although belatedly...this type of navel-gazing is worthless...let's see what actually transpires and is notified in the next 14 days...still undervalued in my view
