CMA saying today that if AMFW do sell some of their upstream oil & gas business's they may avoid a long and detailed investigation of the takeover.

AMFW and JW. had already agreed to sell some assets so looks like this deal is a 'goer' with completion in Q4

Can't come soon enough for me haha.

3 wg. shares for every 4 amfw shares. in other words 0.75 x wg. share price

packman8 buy out terms seem a little difficult to find. Can anybody paste in these. Suspect not the only one and gives a support level.

packman8 post 351 - yes and up 2.4% today, no idea what that's all about but better than a nose dive.

Langerman, you are well up with events. Buy out has already been approved by both sets of shareholders.

Well that's me out I am going to start reviewing other oil based investments one at a time and take profits this SFO bandwagon will run for a while I feel. The purchase by Wood Group should keep the price here up I am guessing but I have no stomach for it take a small loss now and look for a better sector. Good luck to those who stay in.

Question is will they go for Shell and BP? If they are doing the contractors when will they go for the oil companies?

pogue - yes, nothing will happen now until merger completed, which looks like the Autumn at the earliest, and no AMFW dividend while we wait grrrr.

Ah well the good news is AmecFW and other UK contractors seem to be very busy clearly WG isn't but should hopefully catch up.

The share prices move in tandem now as the market assumes the merger will go through.

Price affected by poor trading statement yesterday:

anyone care to speculate on the downward trajectory? I am assuming it is driven by the WG share price and not vice versa as they is nothing bad going on at AmecFW theses days in fact they appear rather busy.

Not just the UK, multi countries involved in the Unaoil investigation
from my understanding. Most of the UK sector appeared to have cut ties around 2012, or before,
may be incorrect on this.

Its a fact of life if you are dealing with the corrupt rulers of the oil world that you will need to bribe them to get projects the UK government's policy on prosecuting those that do is just going to make oil related companies leave the UK for fear of prosecution or they will have to stop doing business in the Middle East, Africa, South America and Russia as they will lose out on significant projects.

Possibly raises the risks of a deal non completion, just my take.
As a WG holder would prefer a deal as think there
is value creation in the combination imv. However sector looking ugly atm.

Could this put an end to the proposed takeover by WG.

well the amfw share price is languishing at 526. should be at 555 based on the offer and the wg share price. looks like a buying opportunity to me as the deal looks likely to proceed. what am i missing ?
