18/9/2003 09:06 | The fact that this company can give a 10p divi shows that it is a great company and it will rise as people want to get ready for the next dividend which could be 15p - who knows? | gumberr
18/9/2003 09:05 | up now by 1.25p great stuff !! come on you beauty - 8p will do for me!! | gumberr
18/9/2003 09:04 | Overdone yesterday and it will move back to 10-12p | nmitra
18/9/2003 09:01 | gumberr overdone yesterday, it fell by 8.25p after announcing a dividend of 10p - i make that a gain of 1.75p............. :-) | davidcod
18/9/2003 09:00 | don't think it will go that high - hope so though ! | gumberr
18/9/2003 08:57 | 12p by tomorrow | nmitra
18/9/2003 08:40 | Had a feeling this would go up - overdone yesterday - agree about MDY!!! | gumberr
18/9/2003 08:38 | from the man who gave you AHT yesterday (risen 16% since), let me make aware of MDY........they have had 3 product launches within the last 2 months and have recently formed good partnerships with smiths, walmart and others, the current share price is a steal. with the recent launches and an impending trading statement and speculation of bid talk from smiths (smiths agm next week) at under 20p I would say there is potential for QUICK and significant profit. worth a look...imho | wlfc1
18/9/2003 08:32 | Still mystified why anyone would pay more than NAV, with no sign of accummulation by a big buyer and nothing official about a RTO. Wouldn't it be amusing (!) if the AGM on 14 october did not approve payment of 10p dividend, or resolution was withdrawn by directors - a lot of bargains to be adjusted. | baggywrinkle
18/9/2003 08:30 | Not looked in detail, but prospects for Amberley seem to be deminishing. Trading at about net asset value, and no reverse takeover now being mentioned. This may change, but doesn't seem to be much reason for a big premium to nav. | simonevans
18/9/2003 08:15 | morning all anybody aware if this got a mention in any of the morning papers? | davidcod
18/9/2003 00:56 | LOL LOL... Only joking with you Stew.... :0) i saw the fun you were having....... | alecjm
18/9/2003 00:53 | Guys - what tomorrow - a rise or will the fall continue? any views? I think it has been overdone . | gumberr
18/9/2003 00:52 | smarty, Unfortunately your interpretation of the information is incorrest. What is winding people up is that you do not wish to take on board being corrected. Well done for making a profit, that is what we all strive for, but be careful, because next time you interpret an announcement incorrectly it may prove costly. There is no need for you to ring a broker, I am one. Good luck. tiltonboy | tiltonboy
18/9/2003 00:51 | dell - if you note the thread, I actually state the cash has been paid out - read more closely mate.... | double6
18/9/2003 00:48 | all this dribble for £80... bored beyond belief, going to have lunch now, might even throw myself on the BBQ. | davidcod
18/9/2003 00:44 | tiltonboy don,t consider my self naive just reading the info as posted by UKREG I am only a thick truck driver and very part time day trader but made a quick £80. on AMB today I think that is the basic concept dont lose more than you make. regards | smartypants
18/9/2003 00:41 | smartypants if you bought b4 today you name would go onto the registar, if you sold today then, as per my broker, you 'might' be deleted from the registar, if you was deleted from the registar then the dividend payment would still go to you VIA YOUR BROKER. quote: maybe you should change your broker ? well smartypants, MAYBE YOU SHOULD RING YOUR BROKER. | davidcod
18/9/2003 00:37 | Hi Stew..... Can you explain about the Dividend payment, will i qualify if i buy today..?? A. | alecjm
18/9/2003 00:37 | stew, There is no point in trying to reason with people that do not understand the basic concept of xd and books closed. I have tried it before on other boards, in my crusade to help and educate, but you end up banging your head against the wall. As davidcod has just posted, it is frightening that there are so many naive people around. It is possible to utilise the capital loss on AMB, against any capital gains. I held my stock in PEP/ISA's and will benefit by a further 1.1p in tax credits. If there are any higher rate taxpayers out there holding the stock in there own name, it may be best to sell the shares special cum(unless you wish to hold), as a 10p div is worth somewhat less. Onwards and upwards(hopefully) tiltonboy | tiltonboy
18/9/2003 00:33 | please read "final results" results - paragraph 3 "will pay 10p on 17th oct to any one on the registar on the 19th sept" so if you sell today (17th sept) will you be on the registar onthe 19th sept ? maybe you should change your broker ? | smartypants
18/9/2003 00:27 | stewjames - spot on just spoke to my broker, you are a registered holder to qualify for the dividend if you buy b4 ex-dividend date (today !), if you sell today then YES you will get the dividend. the 19th sept is irrelevant. smartypants - the thought of you buying and selling shares is very very frightening. buy yourself a basic book of trading skills and techniques to get an initial idea. no offense meant :-) | davidcod
18/9/2003 00:26 | this is such fun even if im wrong | smartypants
18/9/2003 00:25 | davidcod if you sold today you could use the loss against tax cos you won,t get the div | smartypants |
