07/2/2006 22:28 | Very diplomatically put, MTG 8-) | alexandrews
07/2/2006 21:36 | A.D. - nice though it is to be noticed and quoted, I wouldn't wish to offend followers of ALEA (downhill skiers mainly..) by pursuing other stocks at any greater length on this thread, so here is link to the ARU thread: mtg ;o) | m.t.glass
07/2/2006 17:03 | Post removed in good taste!! | adeyberry
07/2/2006 17:01 | ARU is my new short! Check it out... | adeyberry
07/2/2006 16:54 | I dont expect any sharp falls from here just a gentle drift down until the year end results....... | paddyfool
07/2/2006 09:49 | Alea appears to be struggling to bounce. | shanksaj

06/2/2006 00:41 | I roll mine manually. I use quarterly bets - with some currently on June expiry, some March - but I occasionally add new bits and close old bits on localised peaks/troughs, so the older gains are banked but my overall stake is mostly maintained. | m.t.glass
04/2/2006 18:44 | LOL, indeed! I think EC may have ejected too early, but fair play, a profit isn't a profit till banked and all that........ Have to admit I have closed a small part of my short to lock in some profit too, but am happy to leave the majority running, although I think it could be a choppy ride shorterm while many shorters close, or try to without forcing the price up too far! | adeyberry
04/2/2006 18:38 | Yes as farcial as the preposterous nta of £1.45 per share in the recent announcement. | paddyfool
04/2/2006 16:15 | Thanks Paddy.... So, you agree, the current market cap as mentioned in my last post is indeed farcical? | adeyberry
04/2/2006 15:58 | I have plenty of run-off experience.......... The legion examples of negative value are there for all to see, Sphere Drake, Chester Street, Independent, Goshawk. And dont kid yourself that the Lloyds run-off is anything but insolvent! | paddyfool
04/2/2006 14:58 | I see even at a share price of 59p, this company still has a market cap of over £100 million. Am I right in thinking this is still greatly overvalued?!?!? Views from those with run-off knowledge would be appreciated to reaffirm my thoughts. I agree with you Paddyfool, I had a figure of aroud 30-35p target here. | adeyberry
04/2/2006 12:21 | Effortless I may be wrong about a sell off, but..... Heres how I arrive at that thought: 1. Alea are still in talks to sell all or part of the business. As they no longer have an ongoing business it can only be the run-off which is being discussed, therefore it can only be the run-off boys theys are talking with. 2. They stste that they want to aggresively run the run-off. This is code for realising whatever value is left as soon as possible. They fear that the longer the run-off goes the less there will be for distribution. Also they no that none of the Financial Authorities will allow any distribution inthe near term (Two years minimum). So the only option for an aggressive release of funds is an arbitrage deal. 3. The biggest name and the company with the capital to back an offer like this is Caslewood. My view is that the offer will come sometime after March and that it will involve a small cash payment and a large deffered risked element. I would be very suprised if the total on offer was more than £80 million, split something like £30 million now and the rest in loan notes redeemable 2-3+ years hence with the value depending on the performnace of the reseves. Based on the above I am still short with a target of 30p. All in my opinion etc, and I could be wrong! But..........I strongly belive that at least the bulk of the run-off will be sold. | paddyfool
03/2/2006 22:08 | Adeyberry, Trades in this share are a mystery to me, but today perhaps looks like lots of rollovers? EC | effortless cool
03/2/2006 14:38 | Effortless Cool........ Regarding your above post concerning none of the large shareholders selling their shares...... may I suggest you look at today's trades!!!! | adeyberry
03/2/2006 11:06 | Quite right, Alex. Of the seven deadly sins, I'm absolutely convinced that greed is the worst. But, look how easy it was for EC to square. I think that, if one is really keen to cover, then do so with a 4 in front of the price. | handycam
02/2/2006 22:39 | As I said, no point in getting greedy 8-) | alexandrews
02/2/2006 22:14 | No point in getting greedy. | alexandrews
02/2/2006 19:57 | Why, sir, did you do that? Have you let the pressure of a good profit distort your judgement regards an exit point? | handycam
02/2/2006 19:30 | Closed my entire short position this morning at 57p. Good luck to all remaining outvestors. EC | effortless cool
02/2/2006 17:20 | I think we had that today! | adeyberry
02/2/2006 17:08 | looks like the bounce is due soon. see if you can catch it twice | achilles
02/2/2006 16:56 | Nice drop this afternoon! | adeyberry |
