Another way to put it ww is if Wally was a professional sportsman who had managed to fritter all the golden opportunities that had come AKR's way (at least according to his commentary in the formal RNSs), do you think he would have been in front of the ethics committee by now?

A wicket keeper missing a simple catch to run out of a batsman?

A snooker player missing the simplest of shots to give the game to his opponent?

A tennis player hitting a duffer when a winner was seemingly easier / more predictable?

They all might be "rich" but they will always have question marks against their name.

I don't know if the guy is a plank or not, I strongly suspect he isn't.But regardless, there are plenty of rich and successful planks out there.

Agree re the product; I have never used one and can never see me doing so despite liking the odd drink or 12.

The company in on the joint venture for Chube were earmarked to embark on a similar type promotion in the US as that which they designed / oversaw in france before Wally took one of his 'funny' turns; exclusive marketing rights, etc, having been agreed if my memory is correct(?).

I know people who have bought these devices; both as a novelty and also to check levels the morning after.

The US appears to have a wide range of folk; people who will buy anything they see on TV / the internet through to the more serious, overly-health conscious.

I reckon that there are 200m potential drinkers in the US and just working on a minimum of a person / subject buying 2 units per year, if only 10% of the above bought a pair of 'Chube' devices a year with, say, pubs / bars / etc buying some for their customers, you could be looking at a potential market of 40m or 50m units a year?

If AKR managed to bag 25% of that market - the benchmark product / accepted in case law / etc - that could be around 12m units; I think 5m units were ordered for france and the French are nearly as cynical as I am...

It aint major monies but it could have potentially trebled current revenues, got Akers' name out there in the public domain, assisted in then targeting any commercial markets (transport, etc) for similar areas and which would no doubt have helped matters presently in selling and increasing the profile of this new range of breathalyser type devices.

Wally however didn't proceed with this one - or the others that I have alluded to - hence why I believe his motives here are self-serving / sinister or, alternatively, he is just a massive plank or, alternatively, the books were just being given a light toasting.

I don't get the product mcm.I can see why a bunch of bureaucrats may decide the world is a safer place if chube devices are gathering dust in a glove compartment or first aid box.But I don't understand why they would sell in the land of the sane.On the other hand, I can see exactly why the hit and wellness products may have a bright future.

The Chube device was important though; that could easily have become the benchmark device in the US and from that they could have then looked to traget and capture areas such as transport (ships / trains / planes / etc) with the digital breathalyser which they have had for the past decade or so. If Walt isn't sinister then he is a massive clown.

McmHIT sales up 88% on little volume growth, and with a proportion of the customer base on graduated steps to the new price level. So yes, doubling appears about right. The chube product is unlikely to fly. I can't see people struggling with it whether they're half inebriated or hungover the following morning. But local fitness fanatics measuring ketones and free radicals? Absolutely - blowing into the tubes, syncing it, disposing it. Repeat. Doesn't require a great deal of imagination, and the economics are potentially fantastic.

It has been very interesting using these breath testers. It is so easy and so quick and informative.I have used one about every 2 weeks and they have always shown 'negative'/'normal.'They are a very handy and accurate--and are an inexpensive way to keep track of one's Ketone level from home.[I was sent a free sample to try out and evaluate. My evaluation above is true and accurate and has not been influenced by receipt of a free sample.] Mr. De Long, Independence, MO, USA"

Mcm re post 3203,1) The point that the hospitals that use the product most, and know it best, are willing to pay twice as much for it, is undoubtedly good news. Gormally sounds like someone with the connections to spread the message.2) The chube product is sh1te. Akers products can be a fiddle - fine if you're a professional medic, fitness trainer, or health fanatic, but not if you're half inebriated and never used the product before. Cheers, ww

Brief coverage here:

"Akers 'delighted' with chlamydia trial results
10:22 30 Jun 2016

The assessment of the company's PIFA assay took place at two centres in the Pennsylvania in the US.

Shares in Akers Biosciences Inc (NASDAQ:AKER, LON:AKR) were up almost a quarter in London following the release of results from a trial of its rapid diagnostic for chlamydia, which the company itself described as “highly successful”.

The assessment of the company's PIFA assay took place at two centres in the Pennsylvania in the US.

The system, which uses a finger stick blood sample, matched the findings of lab tests in 96% of the cases.

Lab testing is the gold standard method of screening for chlamydia, but it can take up to 10 days to deliver the results. This is time consuming, costly and stressful for the patient. The PIFA system gives a read-out in just five minutes.

The company’s founder Raymond Akers said: “It is a very exciting outcome to have a five-minute rapid test demonstrate that level of accuracy.

“This bodes well not only for the PIFA/Chlamydia Rapid Assay but for our other proprietary PIFA technology based tests in development."

The shares rose 40p to 210p.

The trial results were the second piece of good news of the week. On Monday Akers said it signed up its first distribution agreement for BreathScan OxiChek, a device that monitors oxidative stress in the body.

The deal is with Aero-Med, a division of American Fortune 500 healthcare services group Cardinal Health, and a roll-out will start with a team focussing on the New England region of the United States.

Aero-Med is expected to target large US markets; for example anti-aging, functional and integrative health and wellness treatment. "

Pre-market on nasdaq is currently $3.30 though if you google AKER NASDAQ there is a price from last night at $3.45; ie around 248/255p.

Not sure if overly relevant:

Traders might also buy or sell into highly liquid or illiquid positions at the beginning of a price movement, hoping for a good fill and a continued trend. For example, they may buy a currency when it is gapping up very quickly on low liquidity and there is no significant resistance overhead.

The UK share price is still behind last night's close in the USA of $2.78.

I agree that after this news is announced in the USA this afternoon things could get extremely interesting over there.

All good stuff; so just need the FDA approval and some concrete contracts...

However, suspect that this will go down very well later on in the US (Nasdaq).

Wow - AKR announce the "highly successful" completion of a trial for "the first rapid test for Chlamydia diagnosis using a finger stick blood sample":

Imagine the potential for this test and the potential global take-up....

There's certainly nothing in the share price for this on a mere £9m m/cap.
