04/4/2011 14:09 | chartwise just the breakout as posted earlier, does look positive here now though imho and this company is a well managed global leader in it's field | bountyhunter
04/4/2011 13:06 | Fair point.... I was just assuming that you were using charts. And your reading of them would have been of interest perhaps we can get rich(er) together in AGK? | eipgam
04/4/2011 12:35 | I don't think that the RNS was totally unexpected (although good news and very welcome) as the management have previously stated they were ready to help in Japan if requested to do so, and have in the past supplied power in Japan to the Nagano winter Olympics. As to where to from here if I knew that then I'd be rich ;-) | bountyhunter
04/4/2011 12:06 | Hi b/hunter.... do you mind if I ask you about the buy signal you saw, and where you would expect this to go to in the short term. I appreciate the RNS will have mixed things up a bit, for the better, but as a holder since the last chairman left and the share price tanked, I am interested in your view. Cheers | eipgam
04/4/2011 08:05 | positive news for this company and Japan... "Rupert Soames, Chief Executive of Aggreko said, "Within a few days of the disaster, Aggreko entered into discussions with TEPCO to bring additional power to the grid. TEPCO has moved extremely fast and with great professionalism to define an engineering solution which will bring additional generating capacity to Japan. Aggreko is pleased it is able to be of assistance to the country at this very difficult time." | bountyhunter

17/3/2011 09:30 | yes you could be right fred, seems to be just a waiting game now with these (and the markets generally I think) but the stronger companies such as AGK in the right market sectors should prosper in the end | bountyhunter
16/3/2011 18:00 | 1) this opens the door to acquisition 2) when management can't think of doing anything better to do with the money than giving it back to shareholders, some take the view that it's time for a change of management. The ride has been extraordinary from 185 to 1729. A shame to think there is no other direction left | ccnp
16/3/2011 10:29 | ...so also a share consolidation | bountyhunter
16/3/2011 10:28 | found the details now... "Subject to shareholder approval, we propose to start this process with an initial return to ordinary shareholders of approximately GBP150 million, to be effected by way of a return of value of around 55 pence in respect of each existing ordinary share in issue at the relevant record date (which is likely to be in early July 2011). The return will be made by way of a B share scheme, which will give shareholders some choice as to when, and in what form, they receive their proceeds from the return of value. Notably, it should allow most individual UK taxpayers to receive the return in the form of a capital receipt, if they so wish. The B share scheme will be accompanied by a share consolidation designed to maintain comparability of share price and return per share of the ordinary shares before and after the creation of the B shares. A circular will be sent to shareholders setting out the details of these proposals in early May 2011." | bountyhunter

Wilson is expecting this week's results , due on Thursday 10 March , to confirm 'a rebound in on hire rates in International Power Projects ( IPP) and continued cyclical growth in the Local business.' He rates Aggreko as a 'buy' with an unchanged £20.11 a share target which implies more 35 percent upside to the current levels | mechanical trader
