Hi all,

I put a Blog up on my Blog Page yesterday with an Unusual view of Pension Deficits and with some Valuation stuff on AGA (er, looks a bit cheap....) and MLIN - you can find it here:

Hope it gets you thinking,

cheers, Wheelie D

Trading update reasonable with revenue above £260m. Not sure that recent share price weakness is justified. Flgas possible sale of Fired Earth.

I have lost faith in Aga after buying a Deluxe 110. It replaced my trust solid fuel Aga that was indestructible and cooked like a dream with dependable temperatures. I don't like the Deluxe, it seems to have temperature fluctuations at different times. It is especially notice with soufflé's where temperature is critical.

From the last trading report there does not seem a reason to buy.

No one could say that the report was bursting with optimism and good times just around the corner,

"Trading in Europe continues to be more mixed and consumers remain cautious in
their spending. In particular, performance from Grange, the French-based
furniture operation, and Waterford Stanley, the Irish stoves led business,
continues to be weak. This tempers the overall growth the Group will achieve
this year."

Im not a holder here any longer but surely energy price decreases have got to be good for AGA?

I'm not at all clear why MMs dropped this 10.9% just after open...Trading Update seemed reasonably positive to me. There had also been a 4.8% slip yesterday and a gradual sell-off leading up to today.

It had looked as if AGA's 'correction' - presumably inspired by general market weakness - was over @ 133p but now @ 120p it has succumbed (37.1%) since the erstwhile Bull high of 190.75p on 07 Mar this year.

I took the opportunity to Add another quarter to my wife's SIPP @ 123p.

A first I was slightly disappointed on revenue, but then they say that at constant currencies, revenues were up 5.4%. Pension deficit up a bit on discount rates, but company is now close to being ungeared, so a decent chance they will be able to sort this out. Plenty of smaller pension schemes are undertaking de-risking exercises. Will be very close to debt free at year end unless revenue growth acclerates. The good thing is that they are in a very strong position to finance expansion in trading. At least a hold IMHO.

It is solid , that is the problem ; too solid. A great big lump of Victorian magnificence. Rangemaster excepted.
