Does it really look good value when you factor in the excess payments to the pension fund, how does the PER look once you take £10m from the forecast profit for the pension contribution?

I thought the small cap value report on St ocko had it right this morning with this:

Decent trading update this morning. Appears in line with market forecasts of 5-6% revenue growth for the full year. Dec 2015 PER of under 10 looks good value IMHO

Directors buying is irrelevant, there are countless statistical studies showing that company directors are no better than anyone else at timing their own company share purchases.

I can see plenty of reasons for a share price decline here. 2013 is only the first year of increased revenues in the last four years, it is not clear yet that those increases are the start of a trend.

The market cap is rather large against current anemic profits but the biggest problem surely has to be the massive pension deficit that everyone is quietly brushing under the carpet. The firm is producing sub 2% profit margins, the returns on the capital are terrible and in just over a year they are going to have to find approx £10 million per year to put into the pension fund to prop it up. Where is that going to come from? There is going to nothing left for shareholders who will essentially be investing to support retired AGA pensioners.....unless of course you think revenues are going to soar and profits as well....they have a long way to go before there is anything left over for the lowly shareholder.

I can't help thinking these deserve to be rated considerably lower than they are and would think the short side looks more interesting than the risk reward to the long side from here.

Just my two penneth

I don't get this. Directors bought at c180p on 7th March following results, a decent IMS on 1st May, good write up in IC and the price drops. There were a number of large sells today, who is selling? I'm waiting to get in here and the price looks good at the moment but the drop without apparent reason is worrying, they may drop further yet....

No they didn't! Just highlighted the fact that they are a company that should do well in the late stages of a bull market. I sold out at 1.8325, may look to buy again when market looks better.

Did the Chronic Investor go into detail regarding the woeful pension deficit at AGA?

Happy to have bought in yesterday. A good opportunity at a level below the recent break out, and with the markets in rally mode (at least temporarily) again.

up 4%+ already so market loves it.

Next major resistance is c.200p where I would expect a bit of consolidation at around that area but when it breaks out again it should pick up pace as the resistances become much wider apart.

I'd say market forecasts could get raised quite sharply after the outlook statement - currently revenue only forecast up 4% in 2014 - order intake currently up 6% and 3% price increase to come on AGA and RM and Fired Earth up 10%.

Another constant great set of results today with a very good forward out look for AGA.

This should now break through that 175p resistance today for the next leg up in this fantastic share.

Who needs thrills and spills when you have slow cookers like AGA in your pf.
