Does it work with other smart phones and tablets or just Apple ?

Evening all,

Since release (about 24 hours ago), we have had over 1,000 downloads and are number 14 in the Finance Top 25 in the App Store. We've also had a whole bunch of calls, emails, BB posts and app reviews. A big thank you to everyone who has downloaded the app and given us their comments!

We've had some bugs reported and a few feature requests:

Bug - The iPad app closes when you hit the Boards button
We think we have a handle on this, so should be able to fix it in the first update. For the time being, if you let the prices start to come through on the Monitor before hitting the Boards button, the app is much happier and won't close in a huff.

Bug - Keyboard doesn't come up when you hit "New Post"
Oops, think that one slipped by us, should be fine in the first update.

Feature Request - See the number of unread posts in the list of threads
Once we get our heads round syncing the count up with the one shown on your computer, this should be fine.

Feature Request - Turn noises of in the app's settings
No whoosh if you don't want a whoosh.

Feature Request - Ability to edit your posts
You can edit your posts on the computer, but not in the app at the moment. We might be able to sort this out without having to update the app, using wizardry. If not, this will happen in the update.

Feature Request - Portfolio

This will be very cool. It'll take a while to code up though, a few updates down the line.

Feature Request - Alerts & Notifications
Getting told as soon as ABC has dropped 15%, DEF has released a drilling update or joebloggs123 has posted on the GHI board using notifications sounds like a great idea.

Any other ideas are always welcome, please let us know!

The ability to edit your posts is definitely something that will be coming in in later releases, it's high on the extra stuff that would be cool list :)

I can't get the problem to re-produce on my iPad, but we will check the crash logs and should be able to get that sorted out in the next release. Do you get that every time?

Good APP, much improved on the last. The only thing at the moment is that you cannot edit a post as you can on the PC.

Would we be able to get an edit facility for posts?

Impressed. Well done, guys.There is a bug for iPad users, however; when I select the BBs icon the app quits. Works fine for iPhone.

You don't need java to use the app on the iPhone or iPad, in fact, everything you need to run it is contained within the app. You don't need to get any other software.

We don't have our own version of java, the standard version available at www.java.com will allow you to run streaming prices and all the other java based bits and pieces on the site.

Seeing how many unread posts you have is a good idea, the trick will be getting it to sync with what you see on the site, but hopefully that won't be a problem.

Regarding the whoosh, you can flick the sound toggle at the top left of your iPad/iPhone to get rid of noises for now, I'll see if we can add a Sounds On/Off option in the settings for the app though.

The for iOS is available to download now for FREE.

It is be compatible with any device that runs iOS 4.3 and up, which means you're fine if you have one of these and keep it up to date:

•iPhone 3GS or higher

•Any iPad

•iPod Touch 3rd gen or higher

The app is designed with both the iPad and iPhone in mind, making full use of the iPad's larger screen.

It's been tested extensively, but if you do spot a bug, please let us know on this thread, by giving us a call on 0207 0700 961 or by sending me an email to [e-mail], so we can get it fixed.

Fixing crashes is made 10 times easier if you also email over the crash logs. You can find out how to get hold of them .

If you like the app, please give it 5 stars! If you don't like it, get in touch and we'll see what we can do to sort out the problems with it.

We are achingly close to completing this now, we should be sending the app off to Apple for vetting on Monday or Tuesday.

It normally takes about a week for Apple to check new apps over and put them in the App Store.

So. Very. Close.

Regarding the issue you are experiencing can you please give me a few more details?

What symbol are you on when you click the Boards button?

Which boards button is causing the app to crash? Is it the one in the menu at the bottom or the one on the quote page?

Can you send us the crash log?

After experiencing a crash and you're done testing, please connect your
device to the computer you synchronize it with. Launch iTunes and
synchronize. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to folder C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Apple
Computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\

(Replace with your windows login name)

Select all ADVFN Mobile crash files, add to zip file and send to support
