18/7/2015 09:16 | related item taken from the BHR site. Martin Wheatley, embattled chief executive of the Financial Conduct Authority, has resigned after the chancellor George Osborne refused to renew his three-year contact. In a move that stunned the City regulator, Osborne declined to renew Wheatley’s appointment to the board of an organisation that only came into being in 2013. | htrocka2
17/7/2015 15:32 | pyemckay - a company like Afren can only resume trading or go into administration. If it were to be bought that would be after trading again, or through a pre-pack. We are not talking about a company with a 60% owner who can take it private. I think it is not inconceivable there could be an after hours RNS tonight. If so that would most likely be admin, but it could be resumption on Monday. If the bondholders cannot come up with extra money almost immediately then it is probably trading insolvent based on the wording of the suspension request. Not 100% though as the it could also be read that they really don't know if that is the case or not. | hpcg
17/7/2015 15:19 | @pye, only if they either delist, the dfe swap is 100%, or they are liquidated. if you have your short in a CFD/SB then the "broker" will take a view at the time more is known, and they may payout "early" if they think it is all done and dusted. If, like me, you are short, then we might have to wait several months before a decision is made, and positions closed out. lets hope it is sooner, as the vote is counted sometime after the 24th July, if it is still valid. As AFR are in "default" to the bond holders they could ask for their money back, or force the issue their way, as they are higher up the food chain than ordinary share holders. Hope that helps. regards | mrwhits1
17/7/2015 15:08 | will the shorts be settled at 0p if this doesnt trade again? | pyemckay

17/7/2015 09:50 | leadersoffice - it would be better to commit to selling shares in companies where the chart is in free-fall. That works for AIM, FTSE100, NASDAQ, DAX, you name it. | hpcg

16/7/2015 23:21 | Anyone still think the management of this company weren't in cahoots with the corruption?! Doh! | pinemartin9
16/7/2015 22:48 | ps...The one sided PR bias of this company is very worrying,,, they're quick to issue rns' when there's bad news......but nothing for good news. It sounds as if it's being purposely run down. | htrocka2 |
