ashtree2 - Seems to be something IW has worked hard to improve since joining AFC. I believe that is the 4th presentation since he was appointed less than a year ago!

IW's presentation from yesterday at the Investing in Fuel Cells - The Resurgence conference.

Very confident and positive presentation, and there seems to be some buying on the back of it today.

ashtree2, I also added today, with a buy order at 25.5p which was filled first thing this morning at 25.35p.
I will report on the investor days if everything I note is not reported by other attendees.
Out of interest are you registered, or at least following investorsclub.org?
The quality and quantity of research on AFC is second to none there, a must for any shareholder or anyone considering it.

I think its natural for any company to want to grow, but actually AFC is quite a rare case in that the market wants it to grow and develop faster than AFC wants to. They are currently focused on generating as much data as possible from the beta+'s at Akzo, and the unit at Dunsfold, and on refining the production process to the point that they can licence the manufacturing to a global partner.

One of my highlights from the CPI report:

"IW commented that the company actually has more opportunities than it can develop at the moment and is in the position of being able to concentrate on the opportunities that look most promising. They cover a number of potential sources of hydrogen in addition to chlor-alkali projects i.e. Waste-to-Energy, Underground Coal Gasification and small scale ammonia cracking."

ashtree2 - last investor days were last October I think. Good of the company to want to reward investors with the chance to see the new production facility and be updated on developments over the last year.
Personally i'm excited by the opportunity to ask IW or IB a question or two, although they won't be able to say anything price sensitive so it will as ever be a case of reading between the lines of what they do and don't say.

I wasn't able to attend last year but there were some excellent reports on the two days by a number of shareholders, both on iii and investorsclub.org

Investor Days are already fully booked! Email the comapny if you still wish to attend, if enough people do they might make an additional date or two.

It goes to show the level of interest in AFC that both days have been fully booked up in little over 24 hours!

See AFC Energy website for details of upcoming Investor Days at HQ!

Shareholders can register for the 18th October or the 15th November, which I have registered for.

I would advise that shareholders who wish to attend one of these dates make contact with AFC asap, because last year they were fully booked up in a few days, and there have already been several posters saying today they've registered for one of the days.

Worth a read... Hydrogen from wind is the only way forward, obviously we have to rely on our inbred morons running the country to wake up.

cash raised will not be anywhere near the current share price - big news expected I think, then we will look at minimal dilution funds or maybe cash injection from partner.

I dont think cash is an issue IMO.

Cyberbug; Fair questions . On the market cap point. This all depends if with the latest developments the market decides to value AFC on the potential which is creeping ever closely. I would say its going to re rate over time but you never know when the market will sit up and take notice, with regards to trhe funding of the plant I think the following extracts answer where they would like to get the finance from, if it does come from funding agencies that will be a big bonus.

AFC Energy and ICL plan to start initial work on an AFC's Beta Plus System later this year and on the full-scale system after securing project finance. Jointly, both companies are actively seeking grants from UK and European funding to accelerate the demonstration of the large-scale fuel cell system.

Commenting on the agreement Ian Williamson, Chief Executive Officer, said: "We are very pleased to be working with ICL in this ground breaking commercial-scale development, which will put British fuel cell technology and Innovation on a global stage. I have previously emphasised our goal to move to a commercial demonstration phase for our technology and ICL have now provided the perfect opportunity for us to demonstrate commercial electricity supply.

We now need the funding agencies to step up to the challenge and support our vision.

In terms of news. They have a production plant now so I would say some type of order is on the way we might also get confirmation of grants bieng awarded that ICL and AFC are seeking and as bag1 mentions they have a partnership with akzo. Massive company who may be persuaded to become futher involved if the potential is there. RC

tbey look good for money until Mid next year but there is talk of revenue and value coming into the company, Akzo could partner up or they could be looking at licence deal in Korea.

SP went up to 80p when LINC took placing in 2010, same could easily happen again.

Mass production is where the money will really come in, AFC will quickly hit profit IMO.

Corac. (CRA) is risky i would have sold into the rise if i had them tomorrow morning. they still need to prove up thier downhole compresser. Its being going on for years.Im going to wait until results are known before i go in there but its worth keeping an eye on as if they ever do succeed and its getting closer the potential is big.SLE are much longer term but are setting themselves up nicely with all kinds of deals. i would expect the share price to double by christmas though.
With the developments here just lately though i think AFC has the best chance of returning gains in the shortest period of time.Say over a year. RC

Will take a look thanks - I have a initial target of £2 a share on AFC, it has the potential to move into profit very quickly.

I do think a big licence deal is on the cards when the confirmation of the trials has been announced.
