26/3/2015 16:31 | Spotted a mention of an independent analyst report on AEG on another board, which made me check my Bloomberg account, and it's true... the report includes a BUY recommendation and a target price up 244%, and Bloomberg have revised their rating for the company! ADVFN doesn't allow us to include website addresses in posts, but I found the analyst firm - Empire State Capital Partners - and they include a summary of the report on their website. So well worth a Google search. Here's an excerpt: PCE) ESCP: Active Energy Group - Powering Ahead +------------------- ESCP: Active Energy Group - Powering Ahead 2015-03-24 16:32:09.419 GMT On July 18, 2014 Active Energy Group Plc (AEG) announced that it had entered into a landmark joint venture agreement to commercialize over 250,000 hectares (ha) of land in Canada, which contain at least 108,000 ha of mature timber as well as other natural resources. Since that date, the company's stock has gone up by 70% to USD 0.076 per share, implying a market capitalization of just USD 42 million. However, in our view AEG's stock price is largely undervalued, considering that the company can net as much as USD 130 million in value over the next few years from its JV project by realizing long-term Tree Farming Permits to timber investment management companies (TIMOs). At the KAQUO Métis Settlements Economic Development Summit, held on 27 January 2015, KAQUO commented that it had received three non-binding, conditional offers, in aggregate amounting to USD 300 million subject to further due diligence, which demonstrates a high level of interest by investors in the asset. Moreover, with the Canadian project, the company has significantly changed its business and risk profile – expanding from its original business of wood chip manufacturing exclusively in Ukraine to timberland and natural resources development and management in Canada. Thus, given the joint venture value and the considerable international growth opportunities in the company's other market sectors (wood chip for MDF/OSB panel board manufacturing, wood chip for power generation, and biomass fuel technologies), we issue a BUY recommendation for the stock with a target price of USD 0.260 per share, implying 244% upside. Great news, and about time too! | deaconblue1
19/3/2015 15:53 | Whatever is happening in Canada, two of our ships are busy in the Adriatic and Aegean Seas. The Sider King is just approaching Venice after leaving Koper in Slovenia this morning. It was in Venice just three days ago. Quick turnaround. Anyone heard of the arrangements between Koper and Venice? Meanwhile the Amar Meray is at Mersin in southern Turkey. | mikkydhu
12/3/2015 16:55 | 21trader - whatever we have heard may not be the case anyway as KPMG could potentially delay things further. I am not sure how the local government could justify stopping the project going ahead without obvious complaints of racial discrimination. I would not like to be in charge of the investigation as either way you are going to upset a lot of people. Worth waiting for I would have thought, however long (or short) a time it takes. Spinks also said he welcomed the investigation as due diligence and he would use it in presentation packs. When life gives you lemons - make lemonade ;-) mathewawood - 29 Jan 2015 - 09:51:15 - 287 of 454 ‘KPMG is expected to finish its work between March and May’. | marab
12/3/2015 16:43 | marab I cannot remember exact dates but I recall in the video him saying his team has done all the hard work now it's up to you the shareholders to accept the right deal. Do not quote me on that I'm going offline but I will look again at the video later. Maybe the times are wrong but the news remains. | 21trader
12/3/2015 16:34 | 21trader - I thought that Spinks had said that the investigation would be completed between March and May. He said the same thing about a possible deal for the timber and obviously any potential investor would wait until the investigation was completed. Someone did post a link here to an article that said the investigation was due to be completed by the end of this month. | marab

05/3/2015 10:31 | Some info about AEG markets as detailed at the bottom of today's RNS: Turkish MDF Market: · Turkey is the leading manufacturer of MDF in Europe, producing over 6 million m3 of high-quality boards and finished products per annum. AEG maintains close relationships with all the major Turkish MDF producers, and works with them to develop its production capacity and product range. · Until recently, approximately 69% of US, Canadian and Latin American industrial wood chip exports were destined for Turkey; all of it for production of wood-based panels, primarily MDF. · AEG has successfully developed the first viable alternative to these traditional supply sources; delivering high-quality wood chip in approximately one-tenth of the transatlantic shipping time. · As well as providing fresher and superior wood chip to its clients, AEG's Black Sea production and shipping facilities provide them with significant cost-savings and cash flow advantages. European Biomass for Energy (BFE) Market: · Biomass-generated power is expected to account for over 50% of European renewable energy, according to an EU directive on National Renewable Energy Action Plans. · EU directives and continued commissioning of new Biomass and CHP power plants across Europe continue to generate additional demand for Biomass fuel. · The European Renewable Energy Council (EREC) estimates that Biomass-based energy production will grow from 43TWh (Terawatt Hours) in 2005 to 250TWh in 2020. | cottoner
04/3/2015 14:18 | Just spotted another article from MoneyWeek, published on the AEG website at hxxp://active-energy They're certainly busy putting the word about, very impressive for a small AIM-listed company - they obviously have big aspirations! | deaconblue1 |
