Lansdowne Partners increased their holdings by 4,082,037 shares to 11.01% on the 06 July.......(price range for that day 207-210p).

Well done Napoleon 14th - I've been in since July 03 - there was a much better dividend yield in those days but plenty of worry.

Made a lot on this over time - non-performing share price means I've sold the balance of my holding for a nice overall 250%...

Well Howls, that was in the past and you cant dwell on it, unless you were involved and lost money.
ADN have moved on and have made impressive share price gains over recent months, but that does not mean the crystal ball screams a raging buy for future months.
Looking at the charts, they have a progressive advance, tempered by dips, as any share will, but for me, there is still upside to be had. I will confirm that when the crystal ball clears.:-)

They were a bit stingy with a 215p target.

Going through a period of share indecision, but i am hopeful it will recover lost ground soon.

Any one got a feel for what's been happening to the share price recently? Quite high vol over the past month but concerted selling appears still to be taking place - or is it just an absence of buyers.

Acquisition of certain Australian fund management businesses of Deutsche Bank
Aberdeen Asset Management PLC ('Aberdeen') is pleased to announce that it has
completed the acquisition of certain Australian fund management businesses from
Deutsche Australia Limited and that the transfer of the businesses will be
effective at close of business today, 1 June 2007.

Aberdeen has paid initial consideration of AU$116 million (approximately £48
million), based on estimated assets under management of AU$11.5 billion
(approximately £4.75 billion) transferring to Aberdeen's management. These
assets comprise AU$8.5 billion of segregated client mandates and AU$3.0 billion
of unit trust assets. The consideration remains subject to certain adjustments
to be reflected once the value of assets under management has been confirmed.

SP looking poorly today but not without support..

16/05.... Lansdowne Partners increased their holdings to 10.32%
18/05.... Legal & General increased their holdings to 4.06%

Legal & General added 3,351,285; with Lansdowne Partners I think that I must have missed some RNS's or they added 14,510,042 !!

Well had to close at 2.10, down 4 points, on general market weakness. Luck to holders, I remember last May, hope it doesn't happen.

Nice to see ADN moving up today.

I bought back in yesterday after a flurry of brokers have posted a buy, not surprisingly.

FT Comment today:

'Aberdeen trades on a p/e ratio of 18.3 times 2007 earnings, which is roughly in line with its peers. But revenue growth of 10 per cent does not compare favourably with New Star and Schroders, making it hard to justify a premium. There is little reason for Aberdeen to be leading the pack.'

May struggle for a little while against this negative sentiment. In again at 2.14 but ready to chop on any further weakness.
