30/1/2007 08:43 | Yes the overall one year trend looks safe as houses, with that bit of volatility allowing swing trading over a couple of weeks. I'm really in for the longer trm though I dont see it as a trading share really. I have added even at these prices but I'd see a powerful case for loading up at 181 -184p too. It all depends also on the markets over in the Far East. Things still look really good for 2007. Also the US may turn out to have 3% growth this year. If so, there will be some great rallies as expectations is for a poor year there. | hectorp
29/1/2007 23:06 | They're often right! As long as ADN keeps within that channel, we're squids in anyhow... | napoleon 14th
29/1/2007 12:26 | These people are often wrong....... Day Lite - 29/01/07 New signals are a bit thin on the ground this morning with Aberdeen Asset Management the sole breakout , the fund manager moved back to bear trend having failed to get above 200p we could potentialy test back to the 20 period MA on weekly chart which comes in at 181.75p there is also some horizontal support at 183/184p to consider . | piedro
29/1/2007 09:47 | LOL! No, I am waiting for 189p to go long. | piedro
29/1/2007 09:35 | Was that your buying power that made the share price rise Piedro? lol | focus1800
26/1/2007 16:22 | I'll wait till Monday.......it's a win or win situation. LOL! | piedro
26/1/2007 16:12 | Yes, very close to that rising support. The share price is volatile but predicable - recently! I'm in safe territory now. But I think I'll buy a few before the bell. May fall 4-5 p more of course! we should realise the quality of managment here now is transforming Aberdeen. | hectorp
26/1/2007 13:35 | You may well be right. Last time down I was waiting for 177p and the share price turned at 179p. This time I am waiting for 187p..........perhap ' EDIT: meant..'.perhaps 189p.' | piedro
26/1/2007 11:46 | looks like a nice entry point, what do you all think ? | scotsman2
24/1/2007 10:29 | Looks like ADN are to set up an office in Germany to seek new business. Rabbrooks, im sure ADN have learnt from their mistakes, which nearly caused the collapse of the company. Gilbert has done a gritty job in turning ADN around and, imo, is steering the company to bigger and better things. The city is warming to ADN, but will take time for it to forgive the past errors.Only impressive figures will do that and so far ,they are are doing very well. I`m very pleased . | focus1800
22/1/2007 16:47 | Good to see that Gilbert is still enthusiastic about the merits of playing golf in the big Pro-Ams. Adn's sponsership of Colin Montgomerie may mean that Paul Lawrie will have to take a back step in the ADN setup.I wonder if these Pro AM's will necessitate Gilbert spending time in the Far East looking after our interests there? No problems if the figures stack up,but i cannot forget the disastrous launching of the Emerging Economies Trust offering which came to an ignominious end. | rabbrooks
22/1/2007 14:44 | Lite Trading reported today that there was American money around for ADN last week with encouraging price action and volume in recent sessions. They also said if ADN can establish above £2.00 we can look for £2.30 through to £2.50 ! | focus1800
22/1/2007 10:30 | and 200p blows, what a spectacular chart. now i really hate stops-losses (took me out last year). good luck to all in ADN. | admarky2
22/1/2007 09:51 | PET doesnt much interest me, ( in brief) but I hold PCI which si risly but now very cheap... - I like and still hold oilers TLW, AFR, MRP, SEY, and importantly SDX which I also hold ( oil services company). AFR and SEY have the best potential upside over 12 months IMO. SEY just bought a US oil producer on Friday, SEY is worth studying and is very cheap just now. I reduced my oiler holdings by around 70% in November -December, but I'd be wanting to start buying some back again very soon! Price target for ADN personally another 30% in the course of the full year to come, so thats around 275-285p. BNH is rocketing now, will take some profits there v shortly. all my own stuff, not advice of course H. | hectorp
21/1/2007 16:15 | Hectorp, u picked well with ADN & BNH. What's your price target and timeframe for ADN. Also, do you hold any others? Thks. I'm thinking of a small flutter in PET - some say this could be the next Cairn! | ramu231
21/1/2007 15:33 | I'm adding more tomorrow , Monday, to my SIPP. I already have a feew K's there. Most are in my trading account though. I should also add to my ISA's. | hectorp
20/1/2007 16:26 | Yep Hectorp, oily stocks were the "have to hold stocks" over the past 2 years. As they faltered, ADN have made impressive gains and looking good for further success. Now where did i put that exotic holiday brochure.....? lol | focus1800
20/1/2007 10:30 | thanks focus, very interesting clip, and today's GUARDIAN NEWS comment on page 37: " Aberdeen assett Management was a winner, increasing 5.25p after a positive AGM statement. The group said the assets under management at the end of December had increased 3.4% from 3 months ago to £75.6 Billion . - Numis Securities upgraded the stock to BUY from ADD , and raised its price target to 235p from 200p " - so a very satisfying time is coming up, with a probable increase to around 235p! excellent. | hectorp
19/1/2007 10:27 | An interesting video clip with the chairman and fund managers of Murray Income Truat PLC. | focus1800
19/1/2007 10:19 | You can do it Aberdeen, get moving up, positive sentiment clearly present. | hectorp
15/1/2007 18:24 | ADN should do wonderfully this year if the Far East remains a good place to be investing. Due to the strength of China India etc, this should, remain a very good place to invest. | hectorp
15/1/2007 09:41 | Read yesterday that ADN have a £100 million "war chest" for investing :-) | focus1800
14/1/2007 19:53 | Piedro, yes I think watch the Vietnamese TRust , at the moment the politics seem a little dangerous. H. | hectorp
14/1/2007 14:34 | Thank you Hectorp - that really was an eye opener. Reading the Final Results was enjoyable and educational......... ...... International School Ho Chi Minh City ...... Kido's Ice Cream Corporation ..and, the negative goodwill............ Certainly one to watch. | piedro
13/1/2007 11:09 | Yes Piedro, seems like it. THis is currently a pull in two directions: is it wise to invest billions over there at the moment, or is it a buy because the Eastern Markets are due a strong rally. - IF these markets do weaken, the geared fall of this, and many, Trusts and Funds will be great. Are they still cheap. - and I dont have the answers. I'm holding the shares, from a few weeks ago and I am about level. I'm looking at Viet Nam ( see VOF Fund) H. | hectorp |
