Bulk of the trades have been at 120p of late including a few 50k's. All trades are that price today so you have to assume buys I guess. The delayed 50k's might've been sells from the other day I guess.

Still happy to see stock changing hands around the ATH level.

The Tempus coverage in todays issue of The Times focuses upon the future potential expansion of Abbeys legal services that should result from the acquisition of Lewis Hymanson Small and mentions that there were some additional one-off costs in H1 relating to this acquisition and its integration into the Group.

They also refer to a reduction in contribution from Ibex, the internal Group reinsurance underwriter, resulting from claims that emanated from earlier years. This raised the combined operating ratio above
70% but this is still below the level of most other insurance companies. They also refer to the fall in investment income resulting from the ultra low interest rate environment.

They highlight the 14% increase in the interim dividend and point out that, at the current share price,
the annual yield is "approaching 5%".

Useful and positive mention in Tempus column in The Times today, emphasising yield characteristics and potential from legal acquisitions.

Lewis Hymanson Small Solicitors LLP contributed £760,000 revenue and a loss of £55,000 to the Group's profit for the period between the date of acquisition and the balance sheet date.

Is this going to be a drag on ABB or can it be made profitable in the second half of 2013?

I think the results were a little disappointing. The outlook has deteriorated from "cautiously optimistic" in the prior statement to "cautious" in this one, and some profit shortfall was "unexpected" which always increases investor nervousness. Nevertheless, investors aren't spoilt for choice when it comes to AIM companies that offer good cash flow and dividends. May not be a sizzling growth company, but should still be around and paying dividends for years to come, and no inheritance tax to pay, which is worth 40% to someone like me who is investing on behalf of an elderly relative.

Not suggesting there was. I'm surprised this hasn't attracted a few more income seekers that's all.

Hardly a sell off - just 8 transactions reflecting 0.0004% of the shares in issue !

Not sure I see a reason to sell those results, what were the expectations?

No complaints with that, and nice that they are keen to give it back to shareholders.

Both of us talk the same language - and have the same interest in this excellent company. A great yield and good growth potential.

grahamburn - intelligent and informed contributions are always welcome :-)

The reference to an RNS just relates to the possiblity of a threshold being potentially crossed by an
existing institutional or inside holder, which would then trigger an announcement.

Unlikely as these three trades are less than 1% of the share capital, although it's possible if all three were executed by the same person/institution AND they already hold 2%+.

Not quite sure why I've posted this as it's stating the obvious on a board which only has experts frequenting it!

Apologies M.

The government has announced that it will be introducing legislation later this month to amend the existing ISA regulations to make listed AIM shares eligible to be included in an equity ISA. This eligibility is scheduled to occur "shortly after" the legislation is amended so it could become effective in August or September.

With the track record that Abbey has in terms of growth in revenues, profits, net cash, eps and dividends it could become a popular recommendation as an AIM share suitable for inclusion in future ISA holdings. I will certainly add to my existing shareholding in ABB by including it in my future ISA stockholdings.

The 5p special dividend went XD on Wednesday last week but the shareprice only slipped by 2p and that
is a strong sign of investor confidence. The actual payment date is two weeks tomorrow (June 21).

Good for you Pillion - there is plenty of future mileage here especially when they have had the opportunity to start exploiting their new ABS license. A new ATH closing price of 121p today!
