Never going to happen. This business will be subject to a takeover - the bigger players can absorb our debt without flinching.

No quick fix here. Very unlikely there be a takeover anytime soon. Maybe in few years. It's going to be a long slow way back with many ups and downs. In 3 years time it could be around £3 a share. But don't get hopes up for quick sale.

Someone has given a negative to the fact Hills are giving freebies it makes you wonder what planet they are on. They obviously don't want potential "free" money We are all getting a bit bored of hearing about the "legacy" 156 pence bid(s) you can only each out on that for so long before reality knocks on the door. Talking of take over bids Halfords seem to have a puncture in their profits saw this today .... "Outside the FTSE 350, Halfords tumbled as it slashed its profit guidance for this year, saying it had seen "a further material weakening" in three of its four core markets, resulting in a significant drop in like-for-like revenue growth in the retail business." Now it's only 6 to 8 weeks since they were subjected to a takeover bid and they turned it down flat (as in tyre) " company worth more as usual etc etc ". Their shares dropped immediately and now they pull this rabbit out of the hat to deflate shareholders.

Some people give far too much importance to shorts So some people are short 2% of the Market Cap So what? That means 98% of the Market Cap is long Shorts have no special knowledge and they largely play on the fear of other investors When Playtech has already had a bid of £1.56 rejected by 888 for being far too low, and when Draftkings has also discussed a takeover of 888 at probably a far higher share for share price, it is fairly obvious that 888 will not remain independent for very much longer. The forecast eps is also 25p and so even if a bid did not happen for 888 the shares are still extremely undervalued

The only questions remaining really are will there be a bidding war involving multiple other players? and how much over £2 or £3 will Playtech or Draftkings have to bid? The gambling industry continues to consolidate every month and there are not too many prime targets such as 888 and William Hill left to buy. Kindred was the most recent takeover bid at a takeover price of 2x Revenue. If 888 was to be taken over at a similar price then Playtech or Draftkings would have to pay about £8 per share.
It's the debt gearing against revenue that is the major risk.A takeover will be very beneficial for stakeholders.

Black horse talking nonsense as usual Net debt is about £1.4 billion according to the FT and it is reducing fast 100p will be the new floor for the share price here before the inevitable takeover bid at about £2.50 comes from either Playtech or Draftkings And even without a bid there will be a gradual increase to £2.50 as the eps increases over the next 2 years Market screener has a consensus forecast eps of 25p and this gives a share price of £2.50 assuming a market average PE of 10

While researching I came across this Link hxxps://www.vegasslotsonline.com/news/2024/01/31/should-you-invest-in-draftkings-vso-share-price-analysis/ The last but one paragraph stood out DraftKings will likely continue to look at potential acquisition opportunities. It tried to hijack Fanatics’ acquisition of PointsBet’s US assets and was also in talks during the summer about a possible takeover of 888 Holdings. Chances are, this tactic will continue as we move further into 2024. Maybe DraftKings still looking at 888 Holdings with a share buyout with clearing debt.
Helikon is a hedge fund ..they must have shorted it then bought back cheaply hence the increase in their holdings. Not a bad thing for retail investors assuming they want a cut of the big pie when a chunky takeover comes to the table.

Personally I think the company is weeks or days from a takeover offer. I'm adding to my holding I think this business is hugely underrated, and it would be good if it stayed the course. However it's far too lowly valued now not to be acquired in the short term.

Entain tipped as a takeover target in the Daily Mail. Next week buying more 888 can forsee significant upside from the current share price. Last week I was in Cornwall & visited the Newquay branch of William Hill extremely impressed with their customer service.

The takeover of Kindred today shows just how much 888 is currently undervalued FDJ paid about 2x Revenue for Kindred If 888 was to be taken over at a similar valuation to Kindred, the takeover price for 888 would need to be about £8 It would not be very surprising to see a £4 bid for 888 some time this year
Yes noticed that takeover this morning by FDG the operator of the French National Lottery.FDG's market cap is huge so it just shows how 888 could be picked off for small change by these mega cap betting operators .
Added at 81, Kindred/Unibet takeover up 20pc. One less cab on the rank

The Independent confirms exactly what I suspected that a takeover is imminent. Pre tax profits of £26m is steady progress and all looks positive here at 888 even without a bid next week.

What happened that fake takeover rumours?

QUOTE "30/11/2023 11:17 ok it's time to rebuy that tranche I sold on the 28th for a small loss plus a second tranche the trees will stop shaking soon navigo " that "turned out nice" whilst I am here we might as well read the "sauce" of that "poppit" post which is giving the shorters "brown stains" hxxps://www.sharesmagazine.co.uk/news/shares/888-shares-up-18-after-bookmaker-rejects-takeover-offer

They are all lining up for a takeover of 888 now Draftkings, Playtech, who is next? An offer of just over £1.50 or £700 million was a bit insulting for William Hill which is perhaps the most famous name in gambling Any bidder for 888 and William Hill will have to offer a minimum of 1x Revenue or £4 per share
30-11-2023
Longs targeting £1.50 And a possible takeover bid at £2.50 And many are waiting for 2025 when eps will be 30p and share price on a low PE of 10 will be £3
