21/12/2016 16:05 | Smithie6 Time you grew up. Idiot, comes to mind when you post an article like that to support your argument. 140M worldwide users and you point to a review of 15 people. To top the lot you get confused with the apps name. God help us all. | pet lover
21/12/2016 15:55 | (musical.ly has many many Android users but at present it has problems on Microsoft Windows the official app is torched by downloader reviews on microsoft.com store website | smithie6
21/12/2016 15:52 | Smithie 6 Your totally lost. Time to re visit your school or if your working, night classes at the Tec Your views on the accounts are worth a read but trying to rubbish the deal with Musicl.ly is fruitless. | pet lover
21/12/2016 15:50 | Ah, now your description makes sense. I bet no-one has ever done this. I don't think 7DIG make money selling music downloads through the musical.ly app, I don't think they have ever claimed to and its not their business (or anyone's business these days) - revenue will come from streaming... I don't know how much, I guess we'll find out soon enough - trading update in January maybe? | hausofmaus
21/12/2016 15:48 | Hausofmaus Twitter is immensely popular and has massive useage... but it is free to use....and so far they have been unsuccessful to turn heavy useage into income. Heavy useage does not g'tee income. (Guvera Auz went bust....(inferring a risk that other parts of Guvera will not be far behind), Electric Jukebox imho is heavily loss making, Music.ly is imho probably also heavily loss making (but they can perhaps use Youtube type model and get some income via injecting adverts). ...7Digital imo are working with to many start ups with little or no income....as shown by the Guvera Auz going bust... ----- (I also note that Electric Jukebox has a yearly fee of 52 pnds (after free 1 st year)....from which 7Digital would only get a cut (other parts to EJ, the music copyright owners and the artists, and VAT..... EJ looks a nice idea but since it is 170 quid and you need a wi-fi connection and to plug in physical parts.....it has imho a difficult job to achieve mass market global success, for them I hope they achieve it. | smithie6
21/12/2016 15:38 | You chaps are welcome to just keep your heads stuck in the sand and refuse to hear any negative opinions. But the information I posted is - MATERIAL - IMPORTANT I repeat for you If anyone using Music.ly goes to make a purchase then they are taken to do it using the website of AMAZON......not a website operated by 7DIGITAL. (open the music.ly application ...get it open to show you a video of a user mouthing to some music..and then click on the CD on lower right of the screen...the resulting screen shows you the music track being played and the group that produced it...and it shows you a cart in case you want to make a purchase... clicking on the cart takes you to the Amazon website. AMAZON !!! not 7DIGITAL ----- (the music tracks played using music.ly app are I think about 15 seconds long.....and samples such as this are played on various websites and I am 99.9% sure produce NO INCOME to whoever provides the music samples.....in this case 7DIGITAL) The H1 data proves that I am right ....mega increase in streaming but a FALL in turnover for 7DIGITAL excluding turnover from the French acquisition. | smithie6
21/12/2016 15:37 | To enable monthly revenues to rise payments to 7Dig must be based on a certain set of criteria. | pet lover
21/12/2016 15:17 | This is long, but worth a read - large piece on musical.ly at the bottom of the article... "Hugely popular in schools, musical.ly now counts over 140 million registered users, up from 10 million in September 2015. It is currently adding 13 million new users per month. What’s also impressive is that the app now has 40 million daily active users — which is about the same size as Pinterest. And about 25% of its DAUs are creating content and uploading one million songs per day. The estimated average time spent per day is around 15 minutes..." | hausofmaus

21/12/2016 15:01 | Half year accounts We also signed an agreement with musical.ly, the fast-growing global social media platform based around video and music with a strong and growing global footprint of over 100m users and we expect monthly revenues from this agreement to increase over time. This agreement and our partnership with will.i.am, who launched his Dial wearable “smartcuffR | pet lover
21/12/2016 14:57 | “Instant music video” app Musical.ly (no, not us, still) is similar to Dubsmash, in that it lets people make and share lip-syncing videos on their social networks. But what about licensing for that music? The answer may be a deal announced yesterday with B2B digital music firm 7digital. Details of the partnership are scarce beyond that though: 7digital merely said it will contribute to its revenues for 2016, with CEO Simon Cole adding that the contract win “highlights 7digital’s continued global expansion as the company increases its reach into further territories”. | pet lover
21/12/2016 14:55 | Musical.ly is a fast-growing social media platform based around video and music with a strong international footprint. Users create and share short videos on a platform that connects individuals to a vibrant community of content creators. 7digital started working with Musical.ly in 2016 to power the service. Musical.ly has over 130 million registered users globally, over 40 million monthly active users, and has hit #1 in the iOS app store for free apps in 20 countries - including the United States. | pet lover
21/12/2016 14:52 | Smithie6 Your getting out of your depth. | pet lover
21/12/2016 14:08 | Ah, ok, I thought you'd found something else. When I go to the musical.ly site, I see three big "graphic" links - one to the Apple App Store, one to the Google Play store and one to the Amazon App store - is that the Amazon link you are referring to? My interpretation of the 7DIG/musical.ly deal is that 7DIG and record labels get paid when users stream music in the app. | hausofmaus
21/12/2016 13:53 | Corrected... "Musical.ly" But it has no effect on the point I made. Any opinion ? | smithie6
21/12/2016 13:23 | Smithie6: mymusical.ly doesn't even exist?! | hausofmaus
21/12/2016 12:50 | To highlight using the web... for the miniscule number of music purchases from users Musical.ly are made using the website of...... AMAZON And not 7DIG !!! --- Just click on the purchasing cart and then look at the website address that is then displayed....Amazon !! | smithie6
21/12/2016 12:36 | Petlover ...mymusical.ly..who ...check it out.... Its shopping basket for music buys (if any users do that is another question....it's a social website, for social interaction & self promotion...like Youtube & Twitter etc etc) Takes the person wanting to buy music to website of AMAZON not 7Digital !! If you want it is very easy to check on the internet that my info is correct. --- If my info is correct ( it is from looking yesterday ) then it appears that the MD is intentionally lying in official RNSs/accounts , I cant see any obvious excuse or explanation. ---- ...the big jump in the numbers of streams being provided for free by 7DIG is irrelevant imho...the like-like turnover in H 1 is DOWN. Unless 7DIG can generate cash it will go out of business. | smithie6
20/12/2016 18:17 | “The labels understand where we fit in the new ecosystem. What they need are a lot more Musical.lys. The fact that we’re powering that, and that our involvement has made it easier to license and made it part of the music-industry ecosystem, has made the labels wake up and see how this works,” said Cole. | pet lover
