How does this sound from uk land investments
" Land prices in Wales have soared the fastest. In 1985 a hectare (equivalent to two and a half acres) cost just £85000. By the end of 2002 this had soared to £980,000, a 1053% increase."
2 travel have a five acre site.
The chartered surveyors valued the property at £661000 based on existing use.
If they got it valued to sell to a property development company you could be looking at £2,000,000. What do you guys think.

I know how upsetting it is when we were all looking forward to good results and a big jump in the share price and what we got was the exact opposite, but as I say the loss was due to expansion and not to passenger numbers which would have been disasterous. You are right the results should have been out at 08:00hrs on Friday morning but what might have happened was shareholders looking at the heading of a loss and start selling off, at least the Weekend gave you time to read the Annual report and see what really was going on. All this is IMO .

But to release their results 13 mins before close? With no warning, or RNS, or website (ha) mention? I personally think the directors are due a pay cut for being so amateurish....

Same for me BenA1 money tight topped up with 30k & 50k before results came out, wish I had waited now to take advantage of the price drop no thanks to our friend Wole. Sorry Wole but you were 50% to blame for the drop, only two sellers on Friday. Agree with you oldtown to an extent on the Directors wage increase but you have to remember these results are 6 months old now and the costs are for setting up two new depots & employing more drivers, admin staff and engineers, so we should see the benefits in the next interims.
You have to remember there is good debt and bad debt, the debt this FY IMO is good debt, they are buying assets, more vehicles which bring in money, the two new depots which will be tendering for new contracts which is what most of this years loss is probably down to, they haven't got debt because no one is using their transport it is because of expansion & forward thinking, which is why TLG Imo is a good growth company.
I'm sure the Directors are due this increase, once the hard work they are doing starts to pay off then no one will be complaining, they are probably seeing the benefits of it allready since Aug 03 which we are not privvy to.
Lets say we don't mind debt as long as it is good debt.

Excellent....two upwards movements, no trades showing yet....I wonder if there's anyone else buying other than me??? Not buying much, as I'm a bit Squeezed at the moment, but every little helps! Was just looking too cheap at under 7p to buy.

Hopefully the MMs will realise they have marked price down far too much, as you say Wole big mark down for 20k not forgetting the 300k buy the day before, as soon as the results came out they were down 1/4pt. I am not going to sell any in the hope that price will encourage some buying. Looking at the Directors holdings it's about time Sir R Needham bought more paltry holding of 100k and D R Fowles the same amount I have much more than them put together!, and lets hope C A WATERS won't wait to 2008 to buy into the company. All in lets hope the major costs have been met in this FY, and we will start seeing some profit again or less of a loss in MAY 04

I hate it when MMs interprete value into announcements. IMO they should let the market digest it and then mark up or down according to market reactions. It's irritating to note that on release of good news, or an IC tip, MMs can automatically mark a tiddler up 10-15%.
Yesterday's 20K net sold does not, and should not call for a 16% mark down. If MMs want it marked down then they shoud sell their shares to the company's broker. Fair enough, I bailed out. But on the whole MMs absorbed just 20K shares ie £1400.

And the company's performance is appalling. Now they will be borrowing over 600K from 2 directors...

Jasper - I'll be watching also on Monday. I do hope for private holders that the value is restored. Maybe indeed they "are actually hding a very strong performance by deploying random negative facts." Maybe I should reconsider my conspiracy theory! Maybe they want a fall in the shareprice, buy them up and start releasing the good news (whatever that might be)!

Good luck chaps.

75K sold, 55K bought, so on the whole MMs picked up 20K extra shares. 16% drop for 20K shares??? It's a mad world!

How can they blame it on their floatation costs? In 6 months to Feb 03 they had operating profits of £80K with the float costs included... I'm not too impressed... Now they have to borrow more from 2 directors to survive!
I was hoping for a northwards journey, instead the coach broke down in Wales!

I can't see anything in what I have read which explains why the results were only released 17 mins before close on the last possible day. I can only guess they suspected the readings would not be so well received and wanted to avoid a full day of bloodbath!

NOt sure - is it a NMS factor? It's not a particularly liquid stock and after so few trades recently, a 50k sell after results could be interpreted by MMs as a lack of confidence by a large-small investor (if you get my drift) so probably a precaution. Still ploughing through the figures, but I've a feeling there's something not quite right about their valuations. How did they get the flotation costs for a start, why didn't they amortise?

It's possible that it's the MMs just dropping the price unnecessarily or as a precaution. After selling 25K at 7p, I could only sell the rest in 5K lots. As far as I can see, so far, there's not that many sells and surely my 50K can not cause a 16% drop???

I've shed off 50K. I'll buy them back sometimes in the near future.

So much for my conspiracy theories! I can't really see much to shout about in these results... We'll see how the rest of the world views it!

Hi guys - where are the results? They must be awful if they're delaying release like this. I'm nervous...

On the other side, i don't believe there is a conspiracy, just a very amateurish management. Carl Waters has promised to call me on 2 occasions in the last month, and email me, but he has done neither. I fully believe in this company, but the sooner Bev Fowles sells the company or sacks the second rate directors the better!

45 minutes!

Anyone care to speculate with me?

My guess is they are either going to take the company private, or someone is buying us out! Until CFA was appointed as their brokers they did not have one. Why did they suddenly decide they needed one? And, could it be that by delaying the results they were hoping to unnerve "the little guys", buy our shares on the cheap, and pay the institutions a premium? Yeah... That's my little conspiracy theory! Bet the results will out at 16:15 creating a mad buying rush...

:+)
