Equatorial Mining & Exploration (EME) joined ISDX in 2011 and in 2012 identified Nigeria as presenting an under explored region.
Nigeria is one of the world's largest oil producers and recently overtook South Africa as having Africa's largest economic output.
It's a vast country populated by 160 million people and a huge unmet need for raw materials and electricity.
The directors of EME have visited many regions and towns in Nigeria and now controls coal licences covering 550 sq.
km in the southern states.
In 2011/12 a geological team, commissioned by EME, completed an exploration programme across a single exploration licence and discovered significant quantities of bituminous materials.
The focus has moved to the acquisition of a coal mine near to the town of Afuze and it is expected that all coal will be acquired by domestic cement manufactures.
The company hopes to expand exploration across its huge tenements and emerge as Nigeria's largest coal exploration and mining company.Visit the Equatorial Mining and Exploration Plc website
