Taken a position here. Last director buy was in Feb 3,400 @ 1,631.00p. Results were ok too but price has fallen off since. AI threat is greatly exaggerated.

"From the middle of last year to now the notifiable short positions have dropped significantly, although there have been a couple of up ticks recently."

This is just the nonsense of UK short reporting regulations though.

On NASDAQ you get twice monthly CUMULATIVE short disclosures, on the TSX & ASX it's daily. On LSE, it's literally a free for all for shorters, with the ability to operate below the 0.5% threshold and not impact disclosed statistics.

Those exchanges also show data for % of shares sold short in a trading session etc, so moves can be understood.

If we knew that CUMULATIVE short interest in KWS today vs last year then we could judge just how much exposure short sellers have here.

IMO the goldman sachs short sell bucket would have attracted lots of smaller shorts which have just as much impact as a few hedge funds going over the 0.5% threshold.

This lack of regulation & the general wild west nature of AIM / LSE needs to be corrected ASAP, the UK exchanges are living in the dark ages & it's no wonder there are no IPO's.

I'm not a fan of short selling (using an investors shares against their interest), but I am not sure that there is massive short selling going on here. From the middle of last year to now the notifiable short positions have dropped significantly, although there have been a couple of up ticks recently. The whole games industry is in a tough spot after over investment after the pandemic. Layoffs and games cancellations (seemingly most weeks) mean less business for outsourced companies. The share price is pretty stable and I don't expect a massive movement either way. It has hit my buy price but I have decided to invest at the moment in MTRO and 888 as they are fundamentally mis-valued due to historic issues. I may come back to KWS later.

We have to be close to a bottom. The shares have tanked after post results bounce from the time that Nvidia did their Developer Conference a few weeks ago. AI will help and not hinder this company, albeit the translation will now be easier for companies to do themselves.
The key benefit of using KWS is that you have a one-stop-shop in a fragmented sector and as a game developer you can reduce staff and switch to pay-as-you-go model as opposed to having a high fixed cost (salaries).
Re translation, are the giants going to outsource everything and then do that in house? Probably not in my opinion.
The Chairman bought £55k worth of share at £16+ a few months ago.
I have no spare cash and have a full position at the moment but if this keeps getting lower, I am going to have to go in for more.

I thought the AI risks were overblown but I had a play with Bing AI today and it is crazy how with a few words it can generate graphics. I asked it to create a set of cards with an Africa theme. Unbelievable. At this point I think game developers will be cautious about using it but it is clear that as the technology advances they will. KWS could use this but why would a developer pay for something they can do themselves with 1 or 2 artists? I don't think KWS will sink into oblivion but do thing longer term growth will be squeezed.

I wish someone could explain the price action to me. Lion Investment adding but lots of small automated trades managing to push the share price lower.

Video game production company Keywords Studios PLC (AIM:KWS, OTC:KYYWF) suffered a blow to its valuation in 2023 due to artificial intelligence (AI) fears and a weak industry backdrop, but Shore Capital Markets analysts see this as a buy opportunity for a profitable, market-leading company.Despite the 40% share markdown, Keywords posted above-market growth in organic revenues and earnings, while the acquisition of notable video game developer The Multiplayer Group in December provides "an excellent pipeline for 2024", reckon the analysts.Further adding to ShoreCap's investment thesis, Keywords is well leveraged with a €65 million (£56 million) net debt position, with EBITDA margins tipped for 20% in the current financial year.Industry trends are looking favourable for Keywords, with ShoreCap stating: "We continue to see the group as strategically placed, with market share opportunities and our assumption that, following mass layoffs in the industry, we could see an increased demand for outsourcing over the medium term."Furthermore, AI could actually represent an efficient driver for the group rather than an existential threat, the analysts said.ShoreCap sees a fair share price value of 1,800p, indicating a 19% upside against the current market price of 1,510p.

I have just done a search in google for KWS share price. It is showing 1348 down 26% on the day with a big move after hours. I can't see any trades at this level or any news so I am presuming it is a glitch. If it isn't I'll be buying in the morning. Anyone have any insight?
