On a positive note, if the trend were to continue where AAU share price increases by 0.05p per trading day then the share price would be at 3p in just over 4 weeks allowing for Easter. Now that would be an Easter bunny out of the hat!

I am more convinced than ever that A low share price suits the BoD just fine. That way they get a better for share options etc.Until they want to cash in some of their shares the share price is irrelevant. And when they do/need to sell some they will have plenty of news in their back pocket which can be released to boost the share price They can do this because the company is now self-funding and doesn't need to raise cash. The only things that could upset the cosy status quo are a bid or an activist shareholder coming on board. Biggles, you might want to apply for the latter role.

Dont see why Kerim and co would want to try and assist in maximizing share price before THEY are ready, its in the interest of committed long termers to have a low share price for their top-ups, low as possible actually (as long as the company remains financially secure).
Apart from giving comfort to the insecure a higher share price only rewards the sellers really. So until "they" are ready, this share will always be at the mercy of the market.

I just don't think they (AAU) are in any hurry regards the share price. They get paid regardless. I'd imagine they have an end game for this and that will involve the share price. But not for the foreseeable.

Re Starvest
I was not a holder but looking at the comments on here / starvest web site & chat page.
The liquidators notified via a post on the Starvest web site that GGP shares were being allocated on 19 January at virtually the same ratio as was previously announced. Then Somebody posted that they had received their shares to their account on 26th Jan - so seems one week timescale. No mention of AAU.
As no post re AAU yet no distribution so no former Starvest shareholders "dumping".
Possibly this is (my speculation and possibly inferred in some pearlier posts) that the liquidators need to liquidate some of the AAU shares before distribution to cover their costs (although their fee was only £10,000 plus Category 1 expenses?)this may be some of the sales we have been seeing but not much unless there are substantial other costs involved.
Again speculation when the Starvest liquidation was mentioned the AAU share price was around 3p so possibly more shares have had to be sold than expected to cover the costs than originally expected.

It will be interesting to see if the allocation rate is now much lower than originally envisaged when the announcement comes out as this will indicate they have sold more shares than originally anticipated. Just my thoughts .....

Yes absolutely but when you have sellers for whatever reasons they are going to adversely affect the share price, SVE had 1100000 shares I believe. Problem here is majority of those holders didn't buy for access to AAU but to greatland gold. On administration their holdings doubled in value. So majority would have relatively small holding in AAU and obviously dump in favour of shares they actively follow. I accept some would hold Aau separately and those would probably hold because they are fully aware of story. In my eyes it's a case of looking beyond the shareprice at the company fundamentals , recent rnss , presentations and being patient. Yes I'd love it to be higher and understand unrest with some holders as no one likes sitting on a loss. ALL have been hammering marketing and I hold quite a few but they fall has been relentless too. Again it's having faith in what we invest.

A cynic like me might suggest that it may be connected to the fact that the share price is declining towards 1.5p or less, and any executive share options have exercise prices related to the current share price when they are written. Why spend money on a non dividend paying shares when you can have options maturing in the future, which you need not exercise if prices move against them, based on a price of something like 80% or 90% of the current price when announced? Buying shares in the market are for little people like us.
Do we know when the next round of executive share options are due to be announced?

5 year AAU log chart showing EMA's and 14 day RSI.
This is currently the most AAU has been oversold in the past 5 years. You usually get a bounce in the share price after it's been oversold, but not always. Of course the share price could get even more oversold before the RSI starts to rise again.
Could be worth a punt, especially when the Gold price starts to rise on it's journey to make new highs again.

I was once an investor in AAU and still monitor it closely. I’m trying to assess the fundamentals of the business, and whether they justify me investing again at such a depressed price. Capital markets are pretty much closed for companies like AAU, and likely to remain so for the foreseeable future. It might be different if AAU mined a green commodity, but ESG is not working in its favour. It is now very much a minority shareholder in all future projects, and even if it takes majority ownership it can’t self-finance new mines as it has in the past. Only a tiny proportion of global mining exploration projects ever reach monetisation, and many suffer overwhelming teething problems, eg HZM which destroy shareholder value. Kerim obviously has a very good track record, but the world has changed completely against him now. I’m not sure there is any ground for optimism that any new mine after Tavsan is likely in the next decade, maybe longer still depending on the whims of its majority partner. The large number of projects Kerim has assembled may turn out to be all liabilities, without access to capital. On balance, I still prefer less capital intensive companies to invest in - cheap share prices are hardly rare! Lastly, I don’t think marketing is the problem, it never offers a long-term fix. If Kerim could actually raise capital to finance a near-term new mine after Tavsan, that would be a real game changer. But I don’t think he’s in any rush, is he?

Gold price Jan 2020: $1547 Ariana share price Jan 2020: 2.5p
Gold price Jan 2021: $1920 Ariana share price Jan 2021: 5.1p
Gold price Jan 2022: $1820 Ariana share price Jan 2022: 4.2p
Gold price Jan 2023: $1834 Ariana share price Jan 2023: 3.1p
Gold price Jan 2024: $2042 Ariana share price Jan 2024: 2.4p

As I have pointed out many times before, there is almost no correlation between the price of gold and the share price of Ariana - it might add something to the bottom line but that does not seem to influence the share price.
