Posted at 14/2/2008 17:30 by spurious Think these have fallen far enough and have taken a bite after a long absence. Originally bought these at 16p and sold for good profit after holding for several years I feel the technology is still a global success and it is management that lost the way.I feel the renewed focus and determination can return the company to a point where its share price reflects its profitability and not just its potentialIf not then this company will be quickly devoured Regards to all on this thread SP |
Posted at 28/1/2008 17:51 by foreverhoping edison certainly appear to be taking a conservative line, but new management has to prove it can turn the company around and restore investor confidence. cant see any reason why not given existing and potential business. reckon pretty good risk/reward ratio with this share. all imho, dyor etc |
Posted at 28/1/2008 13:36 by cmteft it seems there have been large quantities of shares changing hands with the institutions as stock is hard to get. Some buying activity including the new management team but still no change in share price and only trading at multiple of 7 based on revised estimates (produced by Edison Research, eps 4.65 down from 6.53p - target price 100p. Probably stock out of favour following profit warning. Reviewing the interim results show underlying pbt of £1.1m, with "second half weighting" one would expect higher PBT than £1.8m (Edison Research) for the full year, even with additional £300k costs of new management team (IMO & DYOR)? |
Posted at 24/1/2008 11:34 by seanmiller yes. Might do a trade, but my deposit for the house stopping me investing too much, bar my TMP shares which will have to be chiselled from my dead palms lol.Director buying on the drop, fell long way yesterday on news, but think it was overdone. Can't tell if them 34.5p trades are buys. Im getting 34.00p - 34.95p here? very odd, 800k shares odd traded at that price? |
Posted at 07/1/2008 11:25 by wjccghcc Very illiquid share, new management who (may) do a kitchen sink clearout, poorly understood, unloved by the market after previously not splitting out development revenues. At some point they'll be a screaming buy since they're cash generative and the UK market leader with significant potential for international expansion but I suspect it might be six months down the road. I still hold a few and will probably add after the interims / if they hit the 50's as Pug thinks. |
Posted at 07/11/2007 13:06 by jeff c Looks like someone's just sold a load!2,047,757 shares @ 82p No drop in price, so presumably the market makers have known about it for a while. |
Posted at 06/8/2007 09:58 by pugugly Practically on 1 year low 106p - if this breaks then very little support chartwise before 50p - While a must have for media analysis currentfundamentals price/margins/profitA forward p/e of 12 - 14 would (imo & dyor) be more realistic. |
Posted at 03/5/2007 14:28 by jeff c Looking at today's RNS:I'm having trouble making sense of the form to determine the number of shares sold but if we say Eaglet Fund sold 2,573,412 shares on 1 May 2007, at a share price of 120p (ish). That equates to about £3.1m. According to Eaglet Fund latest commentary (last updated 30 March 2007): The fund size = £108.9m THN was 2.9% of the fund, which equates to £3.1m So it looks to me like Eaglet have sold out completely. But there's been no trades that size going through the market. So who bought them I wonder? -------------------- Interesting commentary for May from Eaglet fund manager, Peter Webb: " ..... Strong share price performances from Mears Group, Thomson Intermedia, Wren Homes and Imprint where share price gains were 10 per cent plus helped us make progress ....." Thomson Intermedia - strong share price performance??? Uhhh ?? |
Posted at 28/1/2007 13:49 by jeff c This is all a bit of a blow! But I'm not selling and will add to my holding once the price has stabilised. Once you've sold THN, it can be very difficult picking a re-entry price. Its a very difficult share to trade, due to the way the MMs manipulate the price on very little volume.Personally, I think a lot of short term volatility is just noise created by things such as "profit warnings". I can't help feeling a lot of its done deliberately ... to shake out one phase of investors ... to make way for the next phase. I see THN going a very similar way to WNN, which was wacked very severely last June - on a "profit warning". Now 6 months on WNN is looking like it'll make a full recovery. Looking at the 3 year chart for THN; technically 150p should be a strong support level. (But its difficult to use a chart based on such light volume.) In a year or so (or maybe a lot sooner) when the MMs have sneaked the THN shareprice upto around the 400p level, people will be saying, why-oh-why did I sell at 150p! |
Posted at 25/1/2007 11:35 by green sand Having read the TS many times my reaction to this morning's move has amazed me. I never thought that the day would ever dawn that I would react calmly to a 30% reduction in the share price of one of my holdings. As far as I am concerned it is an opportunistic over reaction. The basis of my investment in THN has not changed, in fact the ongoing revenue growth is better than I expected. I have always seen THN as longterm so in for another 1.5k at 185p and back to yawning."Over the longer term, the analyst remains enamoured of the group's products, strategic positioning and growth opportunity." Good luck GS |
